According to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) the African Continental Fr... more According to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) has the potential to boost intra-African trade by 52.3 per cent by eliminating import duties, and to double this trade if non-tariff barriers are also reduced. This research paper aims to discuss some of the current barriers to intra-African trade in goods and to illustrate the specific ways in which the AfCFTA can reduce or eliminate these barriers.
