While there are many approaches to restoring depth, this is my favorite…

When a client comes in with hair that has been over highlighted and needs more dimension, adding lowlights can be daunting and sometimes underwhelming.

Traditional lowlights can get lost in the hair, fade fast, and sometimes look very artificial. Instead I like to do a dramatic root melt and wet balayage to create a new look.

When working with an acidic demi permanent color like @redkenpro Shades EQ it possible to root melt over preexisting blonde and still see remnants of the highlights underneath. This creates a very authentic intentional looking color. This is one of the many reason a choose to work with a more translucent color.
