Science for Kids on Instagram: "Snowstorm in a Jar is a classic science activity for kids ❄️❄️❄️ We did this one last winter and plan to do it again.

✨Materials:
	•	Big jar
	•	Small jar
	•	Water
	•	Oil (any type)
	•	White paint (that can be mixed with water)
	•	Effervescent tablet

✨Science:
The process is simple: first, combine white paint with water and pour it into a jar filled with oil. The water sinks to the bottom since it’s heavier than the oil. Then, drop in an effervescent tablet. The tablet reacts with the water, creating bubbles of carbon dioxide (CO₂) gas. These bubbles rise, lifting the paint and creating a snowstorm effect. Once the bubbles pop and release the CO₂, the “snow” falls back down, and the process repeats.
