I love history and archeology! I've been to some of the places on this list, but not nearly enough. Hopefully, one day I will fulfill my dream of volunteering on an active archeological dig site.

The Ajanta Caves in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, India are 30 rock-cut cave monuments which date from the 2nd century BCE to the 600 CE. The caves include paintings and sculptures considered to be masterpieces of Buddhist religious art (which depict the Jataka tales) as well as frescos which are reminiscent of the Sigiriya paintings in Sri Lanka.
Great Pyramids vs Puma Punku
Puma Punku...the laser-cut precision is astounding!!!. Built by Aymara Indians, estimated to be 14,000 years old. The structure is made of Diorite (one of the hardest stone on Earth), the only other stone that can cut it is Diamond!

Meroe Pyramids, Sudan. Nubian pyramids built by the rulers of the ancient Kushite kingdoms. Prior to the Kushites building these pyramids, there had been no pyramid construction in Egypt and the Nile Valley for more than 500 years. The area of the Nile valley known as Nubia, which lies within present day Sudan, was home to three Kushite kingdoms during antiquity. 1st with capital at Kerma (2600–1520 BC). 2nd centered on Napata (1000–300 BC). Finally centered on Meroë (300 BC–AD 300).

Norsuntepe ~ located in the Keban area (Eastern Turkey) on the Upper Euphrates, about 25 km from Elazig. The crown of the hill, had an area of approximately 500m to 300m, within which settlement (4-3000bc) traces were detectable by archaeologists in excavations conducted between 1968 1974 by the German Archaeological Institute, led by professor of Prehistory and Early History, Harald Hauptmann.
