The primary objective of this research is to find out the origins of academic stress and the copi... more The primary objective of this research is to find out the origins of academic stress and the coping strategies employed by university going students. This research seeks to the find out the sources and causes of academic stress and explore the coping mechanisms adopted by students. This study utilizes a qualitative methodology. Thirty university students have undergone in-depth interviews (IDI). The data has undergone thematic analysis. Research findings uncover the various sources and underlying causes of academic stress among university students such as test anxiety, overloads of assignment, standards established by peers, lack of library resources, health issues during class tests and term final exams, virtual group discussions and works, unexpected course difficulty, clashes of deadline, difficulty regarding research proposal, lack of clarity in feedback. The study identifies and analyze coping strategies such as planning and prioritizing, study breaks, mindfulness and deep breathing, setting realistic goals healthy lifestyle choices, utilizing university resources use of time management apps and hobbies. The results are anticipated to provide valuable knowledge to both the academic community and student support services, assisting in the creation of focused interventions to tackle academic stressors and improve students' overall well-being. The primary objective is to establish a nurturing educational setting that promotes resilience and provides students with efficient techniques to effectively handle the difficulties encountered in higher education.

Purpose of the study: Main purpose of this study to investigates the implications of adopting ble... more Purpose of the study: Main purpose of this study to investigates the implications of adopting blended approaches in enhancing English language proficiency, bridging the digital divide, and preparing students for the demands of a globalized world. Through a Bangladesh perspective, this research seeks to illuminate the transformative power of blended learning. Methodology: This research employs a qualitative approach. In depth Interviews (IDI) and FGDs has been administered to thirty facilitators and thirty students to measure benefits and challenges associated with blended learning. Additionally, Interviews with ten pedagogy experts has provide insights into successful implementation strategies. Data has been analyzed thematically. Main Findings: Research findings show that by blending technology with traditional pedagogy, this approach prepares students for a world where adaptability and digital literacy are paramount. The success of this approach relies on the collaborative efforts of educational institutions, instructors, and students, all working towards a holistic and dynamic learning experience that empowers students to thrive in an interconnected global society. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study adds additional knowledge of the challenges and efforts associated with blended approaches to English language learning in tertiary education in Bangladesh.The study's findings can be used as a guide for interested parties, including educators and institutions of higher learning, to address the issues with English language teaching and learning in tertiary education and improve student language learning quality.

The use of ICT in teaching and learning processes at all levels was highlighted in Bangladesh's e... more The use of ICT in teaching and learning processes at all levels was highlighted in Bangladesh's educational policy. According to studies, there are not enough secondary-level instructors in Bangladesh who are proficient in using digital technologies for instruction. The purpose of this research was to explore options for updating the teacher education curriculum by filling up any gaps found in the development of ICT-Pedagogy integration abilities. In this study, the TPACK framework was utilized to pinpoint curriculum gaps, and a mixed-method approach was used to achieve the study's goals. The curriculum was first examined to find any deficiencies, and then key informant interviews looked at potential updates to the curriculum that might fill those gaps. The study discovered a lack of proper teaching-learning methods and assessment, as well as clear objectives and topics on ICT and pedagogy integration. The study promoted a few approaches for teacher skill upgrades to improve their ability to teach with ICT.

As the multimedia classroom gained enormous importance from the government of Bangladesh to moder... more As the multimedia classroom gained enormous importance from the government of Bangladesh to modernize the educational system, this study initiated the objective to investigate the state of those classrooms at secondary schools. The study used a mixedmethod approach with qualitative and quantitative data to explore the execution and possible improvements for those multimedia classes. Five secondary schools were selected purposively from each of the two districts named Sylhet and Cumilla. From these ten schools, hundred students and hundred assistant teachers were selected randomly to conduct ten focus group discussions (FGD) with each of the two groups. Moreover, ten interviews were conducted with the head teachers. Besides those, classrooms were observed while the multimedia was in use, along with a case study in a school. Although head teachers and assistant teachers mentioned many classes using multimedia, the students' words and observed class information gave alternative facts. Almost similar types of outcomes were found regarding digital content development, monitoring, and mentoring activities. While teachers were optimistic about the quality of digital content and classroom teaching, researchers found those to be less standard. In terms of monitoring the multimedia classroom, the majority of head teachers were more concerned about the number of multimedia used in the classroom due to administrative obligations than the quality.

The study applied the qualitative method and identified the issues that cause skill teacher shortage through causal relation analysis. The study used interviews with policymakers and administrators to identify the causes of the shortage of high-quality teachers in secondary institutions and discerned the solutions to ensure quality secondary education in Bangladesh. Adverse appointment and retention systems; and weak and stagnant teacher development facilities, were identified as the demotivating factors for taking the teaching profession. Through a quantitative research design, 500 university students who are currently studying in various public universities are selected conveniently, and through a qualitative research design, 50 students are selected purposively. This study attempts to explore the whys and wherefores of dropping outs of the secondary-level students in the Khulna district. Apart from this, the research also investigates the current conditions of the dropped-out students. Quantitative and qualitative data have been collected from 52 dropouts who were selected using convenience sampling method. The respondents are secondary-level students enlisted in the dropout lists of 10 high schools in Khulna. This study identifies multiple reasons responsible for students’ dropout like financial crisis, inability to take private tuition, the effect of bad company, parental negligence, and early marriage. In this study, most of the tertiary level students had attended online classes from cities and they were not satisfied with the assessment process of online classes as well as found difficulty in understanding technical courses. Many respondents also perceived that blended learning would be helpful for the slow learners, would help to develop digital literacy, would decrease the hours of traditional classes though overall learning might be increased. However, students felt that unstable internet connection was the biggest challenge for the implementation of blended learning. Most of the respondents thought that lack of necessary devices/technologies, lack of motivation for self-regulated learning, lack of interaction between facilitators and students, and lack of proper assessment strategies were the challenges for implementing blended learning in higher educational institutions.

This study aims to explore the reasons for dropping out of non-formal schools and the socio-demographic situation of slum children in Dhaka City. Fifty non-formal dropout slum children were selected conveniently as participants employing a mixed research design. A semi-structured schedule of questionnaire and interview was used as instruments for collecting data.
