I show that, by broadening the original quote from music to include all expression, one can propose the notion that all expression creates an architecture. Recontextualisation is explored in detail and equated to the melting of a once frozen architecture, which leads to discussion of conditioning in the individual. With the help of insights from artists and philosophers alike, I go on to explain how this process of expression creating an architecture also operates in the mind. I introduce the concept of quantisation, positioning it as that which creates an internal architecture similar to the external architecture created by expression. Finally I discuss how the ideas of essence and consciousness are central to my arguments.
