Kid’s Christmas Craft: Santa Handprint Salt Dough Ornaments
2hr · 8 servings Ingredients • 4 cups all purpose flour • 1 cup salt • 1.5 cups warm water Supplies • Acrylic paint • Paint brushes • Mod Podge • Ribbon Gently, but firmly press child’s hand into the kneaded dough (rolled to about 1/4” thick) and use a butter knife to cut it out. Don’t forget to make a hole for the ribbon to hang. I put the dough in the oven for 2 hours at 200 degrees (cooking at a lower temp in my experience has helped with cracking and puffiness). You can adjust time and temp as needed. I rotated the ornaments from front to back halfway through cook time. I let them cool and dry more overnight on a cooling rack before painting with acrylic paints the next day. Seal with a matte spray/mod podge.
