Indigenous Beaded Floral Earrings
Freeform applique flowers are a traditional Indigenous design and many of my grandmother's beaded pieces used this floral motif. These earrings are hand-beaded at my home in Ontario, Canada using an applique stitch and beaded edging. I used premium glass beads, a real deer hide (leather) backing and gold-plated lever back closures. I used shades of teal, burgundy, mustard, ivory, and gold. The flower is edged in ivory Preciosa beads and a gold and glossy white edging. Gold-fill earring hooks are also available.
