Fun little game. I think here might be a bug though. I died a few times in the first level as I was getting used to the controls, and every time I respawned there were more and more enemies on the screen.
It feels weird that I can't attack while standing still. I keep forgetting that I need to be moving to d a flying kick.
The menu is really great. Mine didn't even have one so points for that!

Thanks for the feedback! There is a bug with respawning, I didn’t get to the bottom of it before the jam ended. I’ll give it another look soon.
As for attacking while standing, that is another gap in the game due to time. I was planning to add punching while stood still. The main screen seems to have been a popular 🙂 I thought I burnt a bit too much time on that, but it’s been well received.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m pretty happy with the main screen, I think the controls could be presented better by someone with design skills 🤣 but it gets the job done. I was browsing the submissions last night and Barbeque with Friends is on my list of games to play from the jam.
Amazing tittle Ui not gonna lie, it tell you everything that needed to be done in the game right away. I love the sound effect and the art too! It really do feel like mario/metal slug game, very polish game and I really recommend people to play it.

Took me a while to get a hang of the controls, but that's more a comment on me :p
Really satisfying. I absolutely loved the dash! A couple of times the enemy spawns killed me, which felt a touch unfair. But I should have kept moving. Great work!

A well made and fun game with satisfying controls and a creative use of the theme! Character was very fun to move around (especielly the dash). my only real complaint is that the sound effects dosent quite fit with the action. good job!
