good visual, good music
Multiple sound with a random play could have been cool i think,
I find them a bit repetitive after 3 or 4 level.
Music are cool tho, good job on it, there is just some mixing issues.
I didn't find any particular evolution of the difficulty when you play more and more until the last level, i find it a bit random.
I say that but you did a pretty god job for this game jam and i had fun while playing your game !
It could be a real game with more complexity in the level design, multiple levels and maybe a story for this little mouse if you want to do a post-jam !
Fun, feels good to play and the visuals and audio give it a great atmosphere. The game doesn't evolve at all with newer levels, but it kept me entertained enough to get to the end. The platforming needs coyote time if it were to become more of a platforming heavy game. Has a lot of potential! Great job!
Good point for the coyote time. Thank you, happy you had fun!
Zelveri, This game was so much fun thanks for letting me play. The coin-throwing mechanic was so nice to use. The mouse art was cool too, loved the glasses and the end screen splash art. I think there were some inconsistencies with the art. Also, the speaker and volume button felt separate from the game. I think the volume button could be white also to be seen earlier. Or just a lighter value. The animations were cute, the particle effects again felt a bit separate from the mouse art. Good job jammin!
It was a lovely time seeing you play, so thank you very much for doing so. The UI could for sure be improved to be more streamlined, I only wish I had time to make assets for each part of it during this. For your color suggestion perhaps the colors could be flipped on the button to make most of it white and the pattern red? That or a border might work, I'd have to see. I do think that mixing art styles is a lot of fun so I still enjoy the 3d and 2d aspect of it personally but more work to unify it such as adding textures to make it more cohesive can be a good way of addressing that. I appreciate the feedback :D
nice game. i very enjoy. but when the dice?
We interpreted the theme less literally, Dice = Luck = What if we defy luck itself? = Tamper with the machine! So, you could say we rolled with that concept instead. Glad you enjoyed it!
Great game! I enjoy this game, Impressive game in such a short time. Great job!
Feel free to check my game if you want to challange your brain muscle!
You've even got a cutscene, cool. Liked the art style, and the music suits the mood very well.
The gameplay is a bit on a simple side, perhaps either limiting the number of moves or expanding the platforming aspect could help.
I think I have managed to cheese a bit (I got two throwing things) hehe.
Cute little game!
Great work! The art and style and music all fit really well and it is a fun idea.
I would only suggest to make the mouse less fast - was a bit difficult to control, but not bad enough to break the game. Also, some more game mechanics other than just cutting the wires would have been cool but I guess you do what you can in a game jam :)
The game is not working on macOS Safari :/
Is it not loading, or is it the screen size? If its too zoomed in you can zoom out in your browser, but it would be helpful to know the specific issue so it could hopefully be addressed later~
Stuck on loading and yes seems too zoomed too
It works on Brave! The game is cool :) the mouse is a bit too fast but it’s ok ^^
I'm happy you found a way to still play it, thank you so much for giving it a try!
Cutest main character ever. Great controls and lots of potential for more features. I wish there was more with the dice theme, like your speed/efficiency gives you more reels in the slot machine at the end for bonus points. But I also like that it was in defiance of luck :)
Yea, we wanted to keep the luck factor low to fit the feeling of overturning the odds. Glad you find our little rat cute! („• ᴗ •„)
This was a really nice time. Not what I was expecting with the concept of a partner in crime rat but definitely an interesting setup;, And there's some challenge there to try and get all 3 wires at once which is interesting. Though not incentivized, but that's a little hand to get into a jam sometimes so not surprising,. But it was fun to try and do even without that so that's awesome. There as nice feedback on hitting wires, it was simple to aim for them and then mouse and some decent amount to get into position.
A couple things I would say though is that the mouse being stopped while aiming was a little weird, I feel like letting you do a kinda speed throw could be interesting,. Though that's hampered by the fact that it takes the aiming a second to catch up tot mouse. So I feel like if that didn't have the cooldown, and the rat was able to move while aiming the coin it could add some interesting speedrun strats I guess. Where you jump for it and manage to hit a weird angle and hit multiple wire at once.
Also an interesting idea could be interesting coin types. Possibly based off of different sizes of coin fr whatever. Where each size has some different perk, if you went more complex with puzzles at least. Ex. a (this is in Canadian coins cause it's what I know for reference) a toonie could be a big heavy coin that doesn't bounce a lot, but maybe it could.. push something down or knock something around. Kinda a "punch coin" I guess. Or a dime could be a tiny coin that fits through a small gap to get to a wire etc. and bounces quite a lot due to it's low weight.
One other idea could also be having some sort of situation where you need multiple coinsd. And so you throw one coin to hit a wire or something and have to lose it to some drain or something. And you have to sue another to hit the rest. Though both of those could be a little complex, and I do feel like the game has a nice simple gameplay loop right now. But they could also add some variety if handled right so who knows. All just suggestions.
There's some pretty neat ideas in here! It would certainly be cool to incentive better performance as a bonus as well as refining the controls to be more precise. While you can aim while jumping, there was the idea for letting you aim while running around as well, but I didn't have the time to complete those extra animations in time unfortunately.
Multiple coins in a level could be fun to design for, though it might make the whole "one throw" bonus idea a bit blurry, maybe it could be "minimum throws" instead...
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback, I'm grateful for it! (^▽^)
Cool game! Felt really good throwing the coin around! Love the concept of being a little rat and helping rob the casino! Really cool! Great work!
Thank you very much! o(^▽^)o
Great concept and beautiful mix of 2D and 3D graphics. Music and feedback felt fun, some enemies or a danger would contribute to the urgency of needing to get a hit on the first try (maybe a timer before you get caught by the casino?), but other than that, it felt great to play, well done!
That's really interesting! I am impressed with every part of the submission - Art/Music/Concept are great and it is so well-polished that I am a bit jealous :D
NIce job!
Aw thanks! :D
This was a really interesting platformer! I just wish there was something you could do to get the coin back instead of starting over. Good job! Played at https://twitch.tv/hedgein <3
I only wish I had caught it live, but I loved watching you play it! I feel like we should have put the level you got stuck on a bit further on, it seems like a fair amount of people found that one more difficult than others which came after... but I appreciate you giving it a good shot, getting the coin back more easily might be a feature to explore. Thank you so much!
very neat concept, art, and music!
Good game, great art and music! I feel like some levels should have switch their order since some early levels have harder mechanics than later ones. Also for me it's hard to say how it matches the theme. And just a little feedback about the character's movement: It's harder to play and get used to move a slippery character as a player.
Interesting game! A very unique interpretation of the theme, and it works very well! The platforming is honestly pretty fun too. The only thing is that the visibility is sometimes hard to work with. Overall though, I had a lot of fun playing. Nice job!
I liked your take on the theme and the presentation was great. Throwing the coin was fun but it would've been nice to have some variety in the gameplay. All in all nice work!
I like the presentation, but the gameplay wasn't challenging enough. I unintentionally speed ran a level when I threw a coin once in a level and I severed all the wires by accident.
I wouldn't recommend using ctrl as a key in a web browser because when I press control + W, I close the tab by accident.
One more nitpick, I don't think the game had to be in 3D. The intro with the casino machine opening was kind of cool, but with a game with this kind of gameplay, I would have preferred something more challenging.
Hi, I appreciate your feedback! I feel like for what we managed to complete currently, the difficulty is good, but ideally I would want there to be some kind of rating system for how fast you did the level as well as how many coin throws you did it in (since the levels can be completed with a single coin toss, you being able to sever all the wires at once was at least intentionally possible, but it would be cool if there was some kind of extra reward for doing so). More levels would allow for more exploration in terms of difficulty.
As for the 3D, that's more of an art style choice! We figured it would be cool to combine the two styles :>
pretty creative. Nice one
