How does your game fit the theme?
you play as a very small scale ant in a large scale open world who has built their anthill to SCALE,,, as you scale up the production of your colony you will build workers to scale trees of varying scales (the trees are big whilst the ants are small you see)

Fun way of engaging with ant biomechanics! Like the overall presentation and music! A way of adding a bit more challenge might be to have some other kinds of obstacles or things that disrupt your scent trails, and maybe a drain on your leaf resources that scales with the number of ants you have? Really well done in the timeframe!
Really cool concept -- love how far you can expand your colony from just a simple "picking up leaves" mechanic. Reminds me in some ways of Cookie Clicker but with a bit more manual management. Though I couldn't keep playing until the end game, I can tell how wild it would easily get given enough playtime. I do wish there were more things you could buy with leaves (perhaps decorative stuff to turn the island into your own?) but what you have already is quite satisfying to build upon. Nicely done!
The concept is very fitting for the game jam, and it's a lot of fun to see your little ant army crawl everywhere. Nice game!

Jokes aside, this was a phenomenal game, the music sounded right, the visuals were fun, and the gameplay was great! I only encountered around 1000 bugs (That being the ants themselves.)
It was polished nicely and it gave me the feeling of being able to outweigh the Eiffel tower (I hope people reading this comment will get the reference), I had fun laying out the pathways for the ants (also appreciated how you were able to alter how commonly the path was traveled), although the gap was a bit of a struggle for me to cross. I played through until I reached the end of the game (1000 ants). Overall, great game!

Allright, I've made it to the "endgame" of 1000 ants, took me a while. Seems like a good stop point.
Congratulations this one. While it isn't too deep in mechanics, it is satisfying to watch the ant colony grow after a while. (And double satisfying to see a tiny little ant just casually bite the entire treetop off :D)
There are some glitches around, the most major one is the slight but noticeable performance hit when you reach 1000 ants. And the second glitch is that our ant's jumping input sometimes doesn't register, which means I often just casually fall into water.
I also agree with the previous comments on having the ability to add more than one plant to a trail. It gets very tedious, to draw a really long trail and bacj, for each teeny-tiny flower; that will just be ripped apart in one go. Would've loved to use my mouse buttons for leaving trails, instead of holding them to rotate the camera...

Really awesome to see an ant simulation game! I love just how many ants you can get roaming around after a while, it feels really cool to see them all streaming around over everything. So good!

This is extremely impressive for a jam game, the visuals and music are all great and it fits the theme perfectly! If you're planning on working on it post jam I think the addition of rival ant colonies would be great, so you have to compete with them for resources and maybe even fight over territory (like if two different types of ant are close to each other they will collide with each other a both ants will die, so you have to tactically choose where to send your ants depending on your numbers and that rival colonies numbers). This could then even lead to having guardian ants that follow the queen around for protection. Giving the player the choice when they create new ants of being collectors, attackers and protectors. There's a lot that could be done with this to expand it and I hope you keep working on it! Truly a great submission, well done to everyone that worked on!
Being an ant enthusiast, leaves cutting ant actually do it to feed a mushroom, which then secrete a sugar liquid that feeds the ant, and it gets bigger and bigger. I wish it was in the game cause it would fit even more the theme! Good job anyway, I liked it. I want to let it play in the background and get thousands of ants.
hey, thanks so much for your comment! we actually planned for this to be the case, the original concept included the fungus, but due to time constraints we decided to focus on the core mechanics. we're definitely going to continue working on the game and will probably add the fungus mechanic in the future

This is an incredibly well put together game for the time limit. I would have played for a lot longer if there was more to do as you played, or little secrets to be found as you explore the map. Jumping across the water took a few tries because this shader doesn't lend itself well to clear depth of field, but I did eventually make it. It was funny to see my stream of ants all jumping on the rocks to the other island. All in all, this would be a wonderful proof of concept for a larger game and it has a ton of potential for things that could be added. The base mechanic itself is satisfying enough that it would serve a larger game well. I was able to get some wacky numbers (my ants had 1.7000000002 speed at one point and I also had .57 of a leaf in my colony) but other than that I didn't see any bugs, unless of course you include the ants. Really great job here!

This is a game I could lose hours to, especially if it's fleshed out even more with added mechanics or sub-mechanics. Also amazing just for the fact this was done as a game jam game!

I loved this game, one of my favorites of this jam! I played for maybe too much even if there is no end goal of any sort.

minor nitpicks: music seems a bit too high-octane for the vibe of the game at times and UI could use some love (specially because everything else looks incredible, so the contrast is stark)
Awesome work, I liked the visual style, the little path particles are lovely and communicate well what is going on. I think it just needs to better communicate a goal until the next milestone to make it really addictive. The UX works well, as an improvement for the future I would suggest working on the UI art, e.g. making icons for the buttons and more juicy UI interactions. Great job!

The gameplay loop is very satisfying and got me stuck for a long time, and the "jungle beat" soundtrack works surprisingly good. Congrats!
