That was cool! The art is competent, the demon designs are charming, the soundtrack is creepy, and the writing is solid. Great work!
I like the concept! A thing that irks me are the floor patterns in the mansion near the carpet just being a bit wonky. I'm a huge fan of how you handled the dialogue - explaining just enough to let the player figure out what is going on makes what the characters say all the more impactful. I'd make the background in the motorbike segment go faster, currently it looks a bit weird. This game is for sure something I'd like to revisit when it's in a more complete state - good job!
awesome job! rly cool to see stuff done by 1 person ^^ i look forward to seeing post-jam updates for this :D
Fun little game, and great that you did it in GB Studio. Was a quick and fun blast!
Hmm, it felt like the game got sluggish when multiple of the second type of enemy (the one that follows you) was in a large room. I'm assuming the pathfinding algorithm could use some optimization. Those ones are very friend-shaped tho, for what it's worth.
Story-wise, it felt like a slow-burn horror that, due to the time constraints of the jam, didn't get a chance to fully go through the slow burn process.
Mechanically the game is sound, but could benefit from a coat of polish or two. The fact that I could move laterally on the motorbike faster than I was moving forward bothered me, for example.
Looking forward to see where this goes.
You nailed the GB feel. The gameplay was simple, but fun. I enjoyed shooting the demons, especially while riding the bike. I'm curious to know where the story goes. Nice job!
Thanks for playing and the nice words!
Very short story, but quite enjoyable. I could have played for a while more, I was invested! ahhaa
the songs are very evocative and pretty much in the style of early game boy games, well done!
Thank you for playing and the nice words! I planned for the game to be longer, but ran out of time, but I'm working on finishing it sometime in October :)
Good storyline, with a nice gameboy art style. The black enemies look very spooky, I first went up to one of the other enemies thinking it was a character, personally I would remove the face or use a similar color theme to the black enemies to improve readability :)
Thanks for playing! And thank you for the feedback! I was worried that the enemy design is a bit inconsistent haha
Thanks for sharing your work! The plot and story are enjoyable, there is a nice variety of music that fits the theme well! There are a variety of enemies, and even gameplay! The art is enjoyable and I didnt find any bugs, whatsoever! My only constructive feedback is that the player death could feel more impactful with a sound effect.
Awesome work!
Thanks for playing and giving feedback! I have added most of the sound effects last minute and of course the player death would be a good moment for a sound to indicate that haha
Brilliant! The art is charming! The walking animations and faces are funny, I loved it!
I liked the transitions from the opening cutscene in the house to the sidescrolling gameplay sequence on the road to the investigation of the mansion. Well done!
Thank you so much for playing and for the kind words!
