Loved the music and the story! It was nice reading a little dialogue at the bottom, although i think the dialogue window took too much screen space.
Waiting for the enemies is kind of tedious because it seems spawning is tied to time rather than the amount of distance you have covered. Also there is a bug that enables you to dash infinitely by continuously spamming shift button.

Hi! The game is fun, but I don't know when I am supposed to fight the boss. Is it when you reach a certain number of enemies defeated? So far the endless runner seemed... well, endless. Also, if you mash the shift key to sprint, you can sprint endlessly and it does not consume extra energy! Also had some issues at first with the slight offset of the bullets, but got used to it quickly.
Overall pretty nice game, the random lines of dialogue while playing are amazing. Thanks for your submission!

Sorry I shouldn't have made it like that but more enemies show up as you collect cake anyways thank you I will add the dodge button fix to my list of bugs thank you for playing hope you try and reach the boss again.

The concept is cool but there are some pacing issues. The endless-runner-like section before the boss felt kind of drawn out with no real direction or progression since it felt like I was just being hit over and over again with random spawns out of three different enemy types. The semi-transparent boss projectiles were somewhat hard to see and sometimes, I was just shooting offscreen and hoping I was actually hitting something. Consider adding impact sounds upon bullets making contact with enemies. The combat was also somewhat slow, considering how many shots enemies take to die. I would've enjoyed the combat more if I felt like my actions had some impact to them and the gameplay didn't mainly consist of circling around enemies until they died. Overall, it's not a bad game. I think it would be fun once the pacing issues are fixed so that the player is reacting to the game rather than waiting for the game to react to them.

fun game! but there are some thing that can be improved, like the weird offset of the player's projectile and the parallax scrolling

This was a fun experience, really felt good. I think it'd be nice if the text speed was little bit faster, because it felt really slow, especially the opening crawl. The artstyle in the intro feels a little bit inconsistent as there are different pixel sizes, but the artstyle in the rest of the game feels consistent again. The parallax background bugged out for me, so that I often had no background on the right side of the screen until it plops in.
I found the crab running with you and holding up that shield really great. The little banter between all the characters was also cool and made the game feel alive.

Give me back my cakes!!! I really liked this, the shooting and movement felt good, the enemies were interesting, and there were some mechanics that I felt like I could master with practice. The boss whooped me, so I can't say anything past that, but that's on my skill and not the game, haha. I think my only complaint is that it felt kind of bad to get health cakes while at full health and low energy - but if that's part of the game, then that's fine. A+ from me.
