gets repetitive quickly due to the enemy types , but zooming around with the dash to dodge bullets is very satisfying still

Thanks for playing

Awesome arena survival Fps !

I’ve had a blast trying to last as long as possible while playing this, i love how you get so many options for upgrading just about any stat possible to inch a bit more power every level up.

I also dig the low poly look and that main armcannon weapon made me think of metroid prime !

This is overall a solid entry, i think the only thing it would need more would be a bit more enemy variety, and some different levels rather than just the empty arena to spice the levels a bit more.

Other than that i’d say you did great, well done :)

Yes, the gun was definitely inspired by Metroid Prime! Thanks for playing and for your feedback. :)

No problem, the Metroid prime look from the screenshots is what draw me in in the first place so i’m not surprised by the influence :)

really fun gameplay, need more enemy types.

i still don't know how the repair mechanic works lol, but i had fun anyway

gameplay is the most important in games, so definitely points there.

Developer(+1)

Yup, the repair mechanic definitely needs to be clearer! You just hold down the R key and if you have Energy it will be converted at a certain rate into Integrity. The conversion rate is upgradeable. Thanks for playing!

Awesome fast-paced FPS game! The movement is so smooth. It seems the game hasn't been polished yet, and I'm looking forward to the full version of the game.

(1) There is no indication that I am repairing myself. I can see my energy drop when pressing "R.". But there are no sounds, visuals, or icons telling me that I am actually healing.

(2) There are only three enemy types. It makes ~15 minutes of gameplay too long. Even though I beat all the levels, I got bored after 5 minutes.

But the first 5 minutes of the game is really fun! A great game!

Developer

I'm not sure how much further I'll develop this idea but at the very least I'll probably do some sort of post-jam version of it with various fixes and small enhancements. Yeah, you're completely right about repairing. There was meant to be a more obvious indication on the UI that repairing was happening but it was one of the smaller things that remained unticked on the to-do list at submission time! And, yes, there were also meant to be two other enemy types but again I just ran out of time. Thanks for playing! :)

Pretty legit idea and mechanics. I feel like it needs a bit more polish such as expanding on the level design by incorporating verticality to help put that jetpack to better use. Maybe some more enemy types and weapons too... well, that is assuming you wanted to continue with the development.

Developer

Yeah, I had originally planned for more airborne enemy types which I think would have made the jetpack more useful but it was just a case of running out of time. I'm not sure yet whether I'll develop the idea much further but there's certainly lots of options for adding more variety. At one point I was going to have different fire modes for the gun but that got cut very early on to keep the scope manageable. Thanks for playing!

The movement and combat is very smooth. However, I feel that there should be more bullets or unlimited bullets for the character because I saw myself almost always run out of bullets, especially when the energy is shared with the movement mechanics. Good job

Developer

I'm surprised to hear you were always nearly running out of energy - I'm assuming you were using the other abilities quite a lot. I did wonder whether to have shooting be a 'free' action but ultimately I figured it fit the consequences theme better to have it cost energy. You also can't actually ever completely run out of energy as it does recharge by itself (just very slowly). Thanks for playing!

Moving around and shooting enemies felt very good, at moments it reminded me me of the feeling of being unstoppable in doom, I like how you have to be mindful on how you spend your energy, especially during the start. The progression is simple but effective. The only thing I would say is that flying seems a bit pointless at the moment as there are very few aerial enemies and no real reason to be in the air also something small- a different font could have maybe helped capture the feel of the game more. Great job overall!

Developer

I actually had originally planned two more enemy types which would have both been airborne. Unfortunately I simply ran out of time to get them in. And, yeah, completely agree about the font. It's just the Godot default font! I regret not finding a few moments to change it up but at the time it didn't seem like the priority! Thanks for playing and for your feedback. :)

Wow!

Really nice feel in the movement and it felt like a relly good marriage between bullet hell, arena shooters and KovaaK's.

Great job!
