First thing first, I picked up these pine tongue and groove wood boards from Home Depot. These are actually shiplap boards but I prefer to use the back of them for a little bit more texture. Painting the boards before installing will save you so much time. Not to mention, it is a pain trying to paint behind the toilet. You also want to measure your wall ahead of time so you can lay everything out to see if you need to make a rip on either side and make sure that all of the boards are on the wall evenly. You can also use a jigsaw to cut out a spot on the shiplap board for your waterline. After all the shiplap was installed, I touched up paint and hung these shelf brackets. Then cut out a piece of leftover pine wood that I had and used it as a shelf. And that's it. What do you think?
