Sam on Instagram: "Still in the holiday crafting spirit? Or need a last minute gift to give during the holidays or for the new year? These DIY ornaments and garlands are smoother and sturdier than classic salt dough, and they’re so fun to make! 🎄 The recipe is simple: 1 cup of baking soda, ¾ cup of water, and ½ cup of cornstarch. Add everything into a pot on the stove over low medium heat. Stir frequently and after 5-10 minutes you’ll notice your dough resembles a mashed potato consistency. Remove the dough from the pot and let it cool off to the side for 15 minutes. After letting the dough cool off, start making your ornament shapes! Gelli Arts® Gel Printing on Instagram: "Whether you call it cornflour, cornstarch, or maizena—it’s time to try it in your gel printing! Artist Tip 💡 from Gelli Arts® Artist @birgitkoopsen ♥️ Did you know you can create gorgeous weathered textures on your gel plate with a sprinkle of cornflour? Regular flour works too, but since it’s a bit thicker, you have to be more careful with the amount used. 👩🏻‍🎨Details: -For the first print you need an already printed sheet from your stash or print one for the purpose. -Roll out some colors of acrylic paint that make a nice contrast with your already printed sheet. -Sprinkle the cornflour on top. The cornflour will work as a mask when printing. But be careful, even the thinnest layer of cornflour will block the paint so don’t be too generous.
Marcie Kobernus, artist, designer, writer on Instagram: "Does it scratch off…how do you seal the Shiny Shoes etc…..I’ll try and answer all your questions over the next few day . But the easiest to answer is that I seal them with 3 coats of @guildlane gloss varnish which keeps the sparkle and protects them 💖💖👠👠👠✨✨✨ #shinyshoes #gilding #customshoes #bristolartist"
