My responsibility

We have control over the inner circle, but we only have influence (not control) over the outer circle.

Each month, I introduce a new character trait to the students. In September it was Respect and now in October it is Responsibility. For the 2nd and 3rd graders, I did a classroom led discussion on different responsibilities they have. We talked about what responsibilities they have at home, at school, to themselves, and to the environment. At Home and At School seemed to be the easiest. How do we teach responsibility to our kids so that they take on both the privileges and responsibilities of adulthood with eagerness rather than despair?
