This paper consists of two parts, that are related to each other.
The first part of this report refers to the reflexive dimension that exposes the journey performed over the two moments of Pedagogical Practice held throughout the year MSc in Nursery and Garden-of- Childhood. This is intended to demonstrate the experiences and learning’s made throughout this training process, as well as consolidate-founded the practice looking to improve future interventions implemented.
In the second part, the investigative dimension, presents a research carried out in a garden for children in public schools located in Marinha Grande. This research falls within the mathematical communication and aims to understand the strategies used by four children when confronted with tasks related to the location. Its starting question: What are the processes used by children in preschool to communicate their mathematical ideas on the tasks of solving geometric problems? This is a case study of a qualitative nature, you want to analyse, describe, interpret and reflect on the ideas and procedures of children. In order to operationalize the research, three tasks were created to solve problems that induce communication strategies and mathematical ideas of children involved in the study. The results of the study show that children resort to various strategies to communicate their ideas.
This study, by providing significant situations of problem solving seems to have promoted the development of positive attitudes towards teaching and learning of mathematics of children involved, and can provide new horizons for educators working with geometry.

This work consists of two parts that are related to each other.
The first part of this report refers to the reflexive dimension that exposes the journey performed over the two teaching practices moments held throughout the year MSc. It demonstrates the experiences and learning undertaken throughout this training process. Reflection on the importance of curriculum integration in first cycle is part of the investigation, which forms the second part of the report. The literature review presented addresses some issues relevant to a teaching practice that, according to the national curriculum of basic education, suggests an integrative learning and teaching process. This investigation relates two distinct areas of the curriculum: Music and Portuguese Language. Thus, this research is developed in order to analyze the possible relationships made by pupils between the learning of rhythm in music and the learning of reading and writing skills in Portuguese language. The curricular area of Music Education is used in an integrated way to enrich pupils learning in the Portuguese curricular area. To investigate this relationship we intend to answer the following question: It is possible for pupils to carry out the connections between performing music and Portuguese in the identification and interpretation of musical rhymes and reading and writing.
The investigation focused on the pedagogical practice of a semester with context was a group of 24 pupils in the 2nd year of schooling that, in the academic year 2010/2011, attended a private school of Parish and District of Leiria. The main objectives of the study were: to determine if pupils establish connections between their learning of rhythm in music and their learning in the reading and writing in Portuguese; and to ascertain associations between their musical performances in rhymes interpretation and phonological awareness in reading and spelling. The study followed a case study methodology and data analysis was made by crossing information from different measures that included: participant observation, audio / video chip records of rhythm exercise and reading exercise, division and syllabic spelling exercise. The study results suggest the existence of associations between pupils’ performances of music and rhythmic exercises and reading and writing exercises."
