Totaly, 15 species are determined belonging to the family Torrenticolidae. Torrenticola (s.str.) laskai Di Sabatino, 2009, Torrenticola (Megapalpis) persica Pesic, 2004 and Monatractides (s.str.) persicus Pesic, 2004 are new records for the fauna of Türkiye. The male of Torrenticola (Megapalpis) persica has been described for the first time.

In the present study using an integrative taxonomic approach that combines morphological studies and DNA barcoding we show that Hygrobates calliger-like mites belong to six distinct lineages. Two species, Hygrobates ponticus sp. nov. (East Türkiye, Georgia) and H. tyrrhenicus sp. nov. (Corsica) are described as new to science.

Thirteen species have been registered as new for the hydrachnid water mite fauna of the study area. Parathyas colligera (K. Viets, 1923) is a new record for the fauna of Turkey. So far, no water mite records have been given from the provinces of Tunceli and Gümüşhane. Including the new data, the total number of taxa recorded from Erzincan province tallies 81 species in 17 families.

(2010), the depository for the holotypes of Atractides (Atractides) anatolicus Pešić, Erman & Esen sp. nov. and Atractides (Atractides) martini Pešić, Erman & Esen sp. nov., respectively, was not given. Therefore, the names of both species are invalid (International Code of Zoological Nomenclature 1999, Art. 16.4.2). We declare here that the holotype male of Atractides anatolicus and the holotype male of Atractides martini are deposited in the Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden (RMNH). The purpose of this note is to validate the name of both new species (International Code of Zoological Nomenclature 1999, Art. 13.1.2).

In the present study we used an integrative taxonomic approach that combines morphological and DN... more In the present study we used an integrative taxonomic approach that combines morphological and DNA barcoding data to describe Hygrobates neotrigonicus sp. nov., a new species of H. trigonicus-complex from Bingöl Province (East Türkiye). The average K2P-distance between DNA-barcode sequences from the new species and two other European clades of H. trigonicus was estimated at 16.6 ±1.7% and 19.0±2.0% K2P, respectively.
