Skilled labor serves as a cornerstone for national development, and the phenomenon of brain drain... more Skilled labor serves as a cornerstone for national development, and the phenomenon of brain drain poses significant challenges to economic progress, social advancement, and educational standards. This research examines the relationships between HR management practices and intentions of brain drain among academic staff working within the various Yemeni universities with specific reference to the mediating effect that job satisfaction has. The following paper is a literature review, which includes the analysis of relevant previous conducted research on the issues, such as compensation, work satisfaction as well as turnover of employees especially in the context of Yemeni university. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze a sample of 270 scholars. The analysis of demographics, testing for common method bias, and assessment of the characteristics reliability and construct validity was performed. The research indicates strong associations between remuneration, supervision, job satisfaction, and brain drain preferences. Mediation analysis also emphasizes the importance of job satisfaction in mediating the relationship between HR practices and brain drain intentions. The results add to the knowledge base regarding HR dynamics in the Yemeni universities, and provide the employer with practical knowledge of how to address the phenomenon of brain drain. The article ends by providing conclusions on HR management and recommendations that should be looked into for further research.

A major disaster for an academic environment is the impact of "brain drain". In Yemen where socia... more A major disaster for an academic environment is the impact of "brain drain". In Yemen where social and political insecurity and economic problems that have made Yemen is an image and has caused the migration of academic staff abroad. This study attempts to investigate the effects of some human resources management practices on job satisfaction and their likelihood to decrease the brain drain intending reactions of Yemeni academic staff members at their academic universities. The study is quantitative using surveys to capture data from faculty members targeting issues in pay, supervision, and extension of contracts. Preliminary findings briefly show the relationship between these HR practices and the satisfaction of the employees as well as their intentions to leave the company which suggests that if the company will make improvements in these areas such as satisfaction of its employees, it will bring about a strong effect of staff retention. The analysis ends with solid guidelines for HR management that can be used specifically to retain and maybe recruit academic specialists in Yemen, resulting in its ecological system being more dynamic and stable.

One of these factors is related to the role of a principal whose leadership quality impacts learning processes. School principals are in charge of developing staff, setting directions, and redesigning the institution. The current paper aims at revealing these qualities and responsibilities that may contribute directly to enhance learning processes. It also attempts to evaluate principals’ roles in allowing teaching staff and admins to share responsibility and be engaged in building trust and strengthening relationships and roles. The results of the paper indicate that the roles of effective principals rely on positive impact on the school staff.
