They propose test generation algorithms to generate test sequences. These test sequences are used by the proposed testing algorithms. The test generation algorithms are divided into two classes. The data processing unit test generator generates tests for every functional block in the ALU while the control unit test generator generates tests for fault detection in instruction and register decoding, buses, and registers. The authors show that the major advantage of the test generation algorithm for the data processing unit is that it ignores the implementation details and thus it can be used for a wide spectrum of technologies. They also show analytically that the running time of the control unit test algorithm is in O(n) where n is the number of instructions. The simulation techniques used and the experimental results obtained are presented. The concept of functionality tests has been strictly maintained. The simulation results suggest that the technique is independent of the implementation. This technique can be easily applied to larger multiprocessor systems where each processor can perform quick yet efficient tests on a subset of the microprocessors.

These converters with a rectifier circuit at output stage can be used as a DC to DC converter. In this case, the control of DC voltage magnitude at the output is the most important factor in converter operation. On the other hand, as the switching frequency in these converters may be up to the range of megahertz, the subtraction of switching devices not only simplifies the control circuit, but also reduces the losses and cost. This paper presents a new power circuit for a parallel loaded resonant DC/DC converter (PLR) with only one controlled switching device. In this circuit the rectifier bridge is not necessary and use of a new switching pattern makes it possible to control the output voltage in a very simple manner.

This paper deals with a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) as one of the different solutions to compensate these sags and protect sensitive loads. However, the quality of DVR output voltage, such as THD, is important. This paper present a new configuration of DVR based on flying capacitor multicell (FCM) converter. The main properties of FCM converter, which causes increase in the number of output voltage levels, are transformer-less operation and natural self-balancing of flying capacitors voltages. To avoid any exchange of active power in compensation process, the proposed DVR is controlled by energy minimized compensation strategy which is explained in details for general unbalanced voltage sags. Also, the proposed voltage sag detection method as well as proposed DVR reference voltage determination method based on synchronous reference frame (SRF) is adopted as the control system. The proposed DVR is si...

The author proposes distributed algorithms for testing and reconfiguration of these systems. In these algorithms the number of tests and the amount of testing message overhead are reduced by making testing assignment dynamic. Initially a small number of processors, ideally one, is assigned to test every processor, and when some of the processor or communication channels fail, a new testing assignment is made to assign again a small number of testers to every processor.<<ETX>>

Two similar designs are proposed: the first one is made of a thick metallic plate, whereas the second one is made of a thin copper plate fabricated on top of a Rogers 5880 dielectric substrate. The focusing behavior of these structures is analyzed with Ansys HFSS and CST Microwave Studio full-wave simulators.

The two most significant types of multicell converters based on flying capacitors are flying capacitor multicell and its derivative stacked multicell converters. This paper presents a new configuration of stacked multicell converter. The main advantage of the proposed converter, in comparison with conventional stacked multicell converter, is that the number of required dc voltage sources is reduced from two to one. This progress is achieved by connecting the upper stack to lower stack while the number of high frequency switches and capacitors, voltage ratings of capacitors and switches and the number of high frequency switchings during a full cycle are kept constant. This converter is controlled by a phase shifted sinusoidal pulse width modulation; so, the self balancing property of the stacked multicell converter is maintained in the proposed converter. The circuit is simulated using PSCAD/EMTDC software and simulation results are presented to validate the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed configuration as well as its control strategy.
