The rang scale of observation extended throughout the duration of two months, October and November 2010.All observations have been recorded in neutral or very near neutral weather .We chose a selected hours of the day from 14:00 to18:00 inLocal time. The maximum turbulence intensity value were {5} at level 7.5m, measured on 31/10/2010 at 16:24 in local time.

This study suggested that the increasing in boundary layer height (BLH) depends on the large change in temperature (T), this change appears during the unstable conditions (almost in daytime) the proportional between BLH and T indicate a good value of correlation coefficient about (0.6 to 0.8). either during a stable conditions (often occurring during the night) the relationship is negative proportional and with an moderate value of correlation coefficient R about (-0.3 to-0.6). This work suggested that a moderate proportional between Horizontal momentum flux (MF), Turbulent Kinetic Energy (TKE) and boundary layer height (BLH) with correlation coefficient about (0.5 to 0.6).

The relationship between solar modulation potential SMP as a measure of solar activity and variation of temperature in upper, middle and lower stratosphere over Iraq for the period 1948-2014 (for about five solar cycles) has been presented in this study. For upper, middle and lower stratosphere we found that stratospheric temperatures decreased, this descending trend is offset by obviously descending trend in solar activity for the same period. The correlation coefficients between annual solar modulation potential SMP and stratospheric temperature have been examined at pressure levels (10,20,30,50,70 mb) that represent the upper, middle and lower stratosphere over 67 years (1948 to 2014). All levels have positive correlation. The correlation coefficient (R) in upper stratosphere at level 10 mb has been 0.4, in middle stratosphere at level (2...

In this work, the maps of precipitation distribution with sea salt aerosol optical thickness (AOT) as well as moisture flux and wind at an altitude of 50 meters were compared. The data of Three rainy cases, characterized by heavy rains and moisture feeding from the Red Sea were selected. They are respectively 13 to 15 November 2018, 1 December 2018, and 27 to 29 January 2019. Cloud top temperature (CTT) data were obtained from Meteosat satellites (Meteosat 9, and 10). Total Precipitable water (TPW) and sea salt (AOT) were obtained from Model projects: a modern-era retrospective analysis for research and applications 2 (MERRA-2). the correlation coefficient (R) was used to test the relation between the variables like Total Precipitable water (TPW), Cloud top tempe...

The climate assessment of the area of Iraq has been done in multiple ways to reach a clear conception of the nature of the climate in Iraq. We used the data of the last 15 years to achieve stable results. The Information was put in the form of grid points and has been processed by MATLAB program. Keywords: agriculture, atmospheric sciences, climate classification, drought, precipitation.

Torrential rain caused the flow of torrents in several areas of Iraq and the neighboring areas. This research work aims to identify the synoptic characteristics of torrential rains and the causes of this case. This will be done by analyzing and interpreting the weather maps at different pressure levels with focusing on the troughs and fronts locations, relative vorticity, polar jet stream effect as well as the moisture flux. The Geographic Information System (GIS) was used to analyze the satellite images in order to calculate the Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI) to confirm the heavy rain case. The weather maps were obtained from the Modern-Era Retrospective analysis for Research and Applications Version 2 (MERRA-2). As for the satellite images we used the satellite imagery fr...
