Today, also the public as a main stakeholder in decision processes has a rising interest in participating in the discussion. Therefore, access to the environmental information has to be shared between government and the stakeholders. With view to geospatial information, this can be done with Internet Map Server Technology. The work described indicates the high potential of a synergetic use of different data sources for a high quality mapping of urban features. Fusing ground-based data (e.g. ATKIS, ALKIS) with remotely sensed information is resulting in high quality thematic datasets. The provision of the final data to the stakeholders is realised by a geodata infrastructure including an Internet Map Server for the public access. To avoid misinterpretation of the results, the information content and the functionality of the Map Server was extended and the relevant metadata -necessary for the correct interpretation-linked to the target information. The system is accessible under http://informatik1.umwelt-campus.de/boden/
