The challenges of how to manage healthcare and achieve clinical integration in today's payment se... more The challenges of how to manage healthcare and achieve clinical integration in today's payment setting has become a national concern. The use of technology to help ensure healthcare quality and control cost is an ongoing research subject. Business intelligence solutions are used in many industries to garner insight from financial and operational data to make more informed decisions towards the ultimate goal of achieving efficiency and effectiveness. This paper aims to bring the reader up-to-date with the current literature on two basic topics; business intelligence and healthcare delivery and form the basis for the justification of research on the impact of business intelligence on healthcare delivery in the U.S.A. To achieve that goal we examine BI deployment in the healthcare industry, address relevant issues and challenges, and explore the role of BI to foster certain organizational capabilities. Examples of how BI capabilities have supported organizational capabilities impacting the problems of accessibility, cost, and quality of healthcare are presented. Scholars and professionals, alike, could benefit from this study where BI is presented as a mechanism to ensure a robust and systematic approach to healthcare management with an ultimate goal of enduring impact on quality improvement and cost control.

This article deploys large sets of data and descriptive indicators to compare and contrast the extent of the visibility, specificity, and lucidity of privacy policies posted by interactive companies on the Internet. Examining about 2000 Interactive companies in the USA, Europe, and Asia provides a measure of divergent responses to the growing demand for privacy protection. The results of this comparative study should help interested readers from the business world, academics, and administrations get a grasp of the extent of efforts by international corporations to protect personal information privacy in an increasingly global economy.

The proposed relationship is further augmented by investigating the mediating role of operation-level dynamic capability particularly for the service setting. Survey data of medium to large-size enterprises in service industries in the United States were used to validate the proposed model. The results indicate that operational reconfigurability as an operation-level dynamic capability is a significant IT-enabled mediating driving force of firm performance in the service setting. This study is an early attempt to examine the strategic value of information technologies to lead to service firms business performance, particularly through the dynamic capability at the operation level.

Predictions, however, have not materialized; E-commerce represents less that 1% of the total trade and signs of a sharp growth are not in sight. Slow growth of e-commerce has often been attributed to the lack of trust [1] in either the medium (Internet) or the agents involved in the transaction (organizations). Our research is aimed at providing some insights as what privacy policies are and how they are practiced in the U.S. To this effect we have surveyed firms in multiple sectors that have been listed as most active in trading online. Our findings indicate that most interactive companies have Published Privacy Policies (PPP). However, the percentage of companies with PPP varies based on their type of business, size, and whether the company is 100% interactive or it also has brick and mortar presence

This paper examines the impact of the Internet on the music industry and argues that the adverse impact of technology disruption can be offset by the proper use of business intelligence technology throughout the value chain. A careful analysis of the value chain of music industry helps determine where and how Business Intelligence can be effectively implemented towards the best outcome. While there have been a number of studies about the implementation of BI in other industries such as finance, healthcare, and education, there has never been an insightful study of BI in the music industry. Scholars of business intelligence and music industry managers should benefit from this study as we explore yet another context for the application of BI technology and opportunities for adding value through Business Intelligence.
