Forming Nation Characters Through History Learning Process

Learning is not just a process of transfer of knowledge (transfer of knowledge) from teachers to ... more Learning is not just a process of transfer of knowledge (transfer of knowledge) from teachers to students, but also a process of transfer of values. This means that the learning process, apart from being a process of transmitting knowledge with cognitive goals, also deals with the process of developing and building the character of students. Historical learning has a strategic role in shaping the character of the nation. A good history study does not only emphasize cognitive aspects but also must pay attention to affective and psychomotor aspects. The history learning process must be able to explore noble historical values from each historical event that is learned, from which the students can learn from these values and use them for their future lives. So, later there will be historical awareness in students. The exploration of noble values and the emergence of historical awareness can be obtained by using the appropriate historical learning method. The learning model has a strategic function in the process of learning history. Four learning models can trigger curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking of students, including discovery-based learning, problem-based learning, projectbased learning, and the information processing models.

Penelitian ini mencoba untuk melihat bagaimana posisi mata pelajaran sejarah di SMA, khususnya sa... more Penelitian ini mencoba untuk melihat bagaimana posisi mata pelajaran sejarah di SMA, khususnya saat berlakunya KTSP dan Kurikulum 2013. Tulisan ini juga melihat dan membandingkan mana dari kedua kurikulum tersebut yang menempatkan mata pelajaran sejarah. Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah kritis, yakni mengungkap sebuah masalah, gejalah, atau kejadian berdasarkan metode ilmiah sejarah. Adapun tahap yang digunakan dalam penelitian ialah dimulai dari tahap penentuan topik, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pencarian sumber atau Heuristik, kemudian kritik sumber, tahap selanjutnya adalah intepretasi, kemudian langkah terakhir adalah historiografi atau penulisan sumber. Temuan penelitian dilapangan menunjukkan bahwa mata pelajaran sejarah dalam kurikulum tahun 2004-2014 yakni dari KTSP ke K13 mengalami perubahan dan pergeresan nilai kearah yang positif. Dalam kurikulum 2013 Mata pelajaran sejarah ditempatkan pada posisi yang cukup strategis yakni dengan jadikan dua mapel sekaligus, sejarah Indonesia wajib dan sejarah peminatan.

SMA Negeri 106 Jakarta is a school designated by the government as the first school to implement ... more SMA Negeri 106 Jakarta is a school designated by the government as the first school to implement the 2013 curriculum. This study aims to see and describe the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in learning, how the form of acceptance, school readiness, and the obstacles faced in implementing the curriculum. This research uses qualitative research methods, with a case study in the school of SMAN 106 Jakarta. Data analysis was carried out by technical data analysis according to Miles and Hubberman with three stages, namely data reduction, data display, and data verification. The results show that the 2013 curriculum has been implemented since the beginning at SMAN 106 Jakarta. History subjects are among the subjects that first apply the 2013 curriculum in the learning process. The learning methods taught have used the Scientific and Discovery methods. The implementation of the 2013 curriculum can be seen in the learning tools that are in accordance with the provisions of the central government. The obstacles faced in implementing the 2013 curriculum are technical constraints related to learning resources and facilities and infrastructure.

During this time political freedom was restricted, mass participation is suppressed, the electoral process was controlled by the government and hardly provided the opportunity for public scrutiny. The only political parties are PPP (Development Unity Party), PDI (Indonesian Democracy Party) and Golongan Karya, which are government political parties. In the view of the government the failure of development so far has come from the political sector, especially political parties. The policy was adopted as part of an efforts to achieve political stability in order to realize national development. In other words democracy is sacrificed for the benefit of economic development.

At first Ondel-Ondel was created as a way to repel reinforcements from the Betawi tribe. However, now everything is different. Ondel-Ondel is no longer considered sacred.
