Not even the importance of this architectural event in the second Abbasid metropolis Samarra and its extraordinary design value are emphasised in this article; a re-read of its architectural component by using criticism tools is also intended.
In the past, many attempts had been spread, based on unscientific and non-credible “thesis” references, claiming that the diligent Samarian architect is not able to undertake such an innovative work. This led to some hidden, incorrect and unscientific statements of many scholars who opposed the research on the achievement of Islamic architecture.
Through scientific analysis and objective proof, this study shows the value and importance of Malwiya Minaret as well as its deep influence and impact, on the overall architectural activity - local or regional. Later building interpretations of Malwiya and the architectural complex of Samarra are seen as a source of inspiration and added value to architectural experience, enriching the repertoire of the human architectural product in general.
(Keywords: Minaret, Malwiya, Great Samarra Mosque, achievement, influence and interpretation).
