The minimization of storage place and proper transmission of these data need compression. In this dissertation we proposed a block based DWT image compression technique using genetic algorithm and HCC code matrix. The HCC code matrix compressed into two different set redundant and non-redundant which generate similar pattern of block coefficient. The similar block coefficient generated by particle of swarm optimization. The process of particle of swarm optimization is select for the optimal block of DWT transform function. For the experimental purpose we used some standard image such as Lena, Barbara and cameraman image. The size of resolution of this image is 256*256. The source of image is Google.

The new wave model is the Variational Boussinesq model (VBM). However, this new realistic model brings much more computation effort with it. The VBM mainly requires an unsteady state solver, that solves a coupled system of equations at each frame (20 fps) . The model is currently limited by the time-step constraints, which makes it difficult to simulate large and non-uniform domains in real-time. The focus of the current Master’s thesis is to develop a fast and robust solver with good stability properties.

Recently, it has been shown that heuristics for solving combinatorial problems can be learned using a machine learning-based approach. While existing techniques have primarily focussed on obtaining high-quality solutions, the aspect of scalability to billion-sized graphs has not been adequately addressed. In this paper, we propose a deep reinforcement learning framework called GCOMB to learn algorithms that can solve combinatorial problems over graphs at scale. Besides considering the traditional NP-hard combinatorial problems, we apply our framework to the popular and challenging data mining problem of Influence Maximization. GCOMB utilizes Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) to generate node embeddings that predict potential solution nodes. These embeddings are next fed to a Q-learning framework, which learns the combinatorial nature of the problem and predicts the final solution set. Through exte...

While existing techniques have primarily focused on obtaining high-quality solutions, scalability to billion-sized graphs has not been adequately addressed. In addition, the impact of budgetconstraint, which is necessary for many practical scenarios, remains to be studied. In this paper, we propose a framework called GCOMB to bridge these gaps. GCOMB trains a Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) using a novel probabilistic greedy mechanism to predict the quality of a node. To further facilitate the combinatorial nature of the problem, GCOMB utilizes a Q-learning framework, which is made efficient through importance sampling. We perform extensive experiments on real graphs to benchmark the efficiency and efficacy of GCOMB. Our results establish that GCOMB is 100 times faster and marginally better in quality than state-of-the-art algorithms for learning combinator...
The ultraviolet (UV)/titanium dioxide (TiO2)/hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) process (UTHP) has been pro... more The ultraviolet (UV)/titanium dioxide (TiO2)/hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) process (UTHP) has been proven to be effective in removing organics because of its high production of free radicals. In this study, UTHP was further investigated for the photocatalytic degradation of microcystin-LR (MC-LR). Results showed that three mechanisms could realize MC-LR photocatalytic degradation using TiO2. H2O2 could effectively inhibit recombination and considerably improve the production of radicals and superoxides. From a correlation of the removal rate with the isomerization and decomposition of MC-LR under UV irradiation it was inferred that isomerization was crucial for MC-LR degradation during photocatalysis given the vulnerability of the exposed conjugated double bonds. The photocatalysis of MC-LR was apparently dependent on pH and MC-LR initial concentration. Under the optimum conditions of pH 3.5, 0.05 g/L TiO2, and 0.05 mmol/L H2O2, 100% MC-LR (308 μg/L) could be removed within 60 min. This ...

In this paper we specifically look at the heat transport problem, dynamics of which drives the overall dynamics of the proposed process concept. Exploiting the large "separation of scales" between the axial and radial coordinates, we have addressed the modeling problem at the corresponding scales with a simplified, one-dimensional dynamic model in the reactor (axial) scale and a detailed dynamic finite element method (FEM) model at the channel (radial) scale. This contribution relates to the latter model, wherein we have investigated the effect of various controlling physical parameters as well and geometrical and configurational aspects. Finally, we identify ways in which such a process concept may be optimized.
