Various research results imply that non-native speakers of English language produce certain speech characteristics which are uncommon in native speakers ’ speech. This is because non-native speakers do not produce the same tongue movement as native speakers. This paper presents an isolated English word recognition system devised with the speech of local Bangladeshi people, who are also non-native speakers of English language. Here, we have also noticed a different speech characteristic which is not available within the speech of native English speakers. Two acoustic features, ‘pitch ’ and ‘formants ’ have been utilized to develop the system. The system is speaker-independent and stands on Template based approach. The recognition method applied here is very simple and the recognition accuracy is also very satisfactory.

With the development of USB Key chips, more and more security features will be supported by USB Key. Network security middleware is a Java and HTTP-based development framework on USB Key. Developers can develop and on line load network security–related programs on this framework. End users can use this USB Key to establish secure network connections. In this design, USB Key became an active secure device on network. Design and implementation of this middleware is given in this paper. At fist, the software architecture and security features of this middleware are discussed in detail, which includes how to implement HTTP server, CGI, security proxy etc. on USB Key. Secondly, application scenarios and security analysis of mutual authentication between Web server and client on this middleware are given. At last, advantages of this middleware and what to do further are given in conclusion and future work.

Understanding the clinical course and outcome will give the clinical and public health implications of this syndrome. Objectives: This study was conducted to find out the clinical presentation, course of the disease and outcome of the children and adolescents of MIS-C. Methods: This observational study was conducted in the department of Pediatric Nephrology, Dhaka Shishu (Children) Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh, from August 2020 to October 2020. Total 12 children of MIS-C diagnosed according to WHO diagnostic criteria of MIS-C were included after taking written informed consent from the parents. Mean, median and standard deviation were calculated for the continuous variables. Th... more This paper mainly focuses on the trends and bank behaviors during the global financial crisis. This paper criticizes banking sector during the financial crisis. Based on our deep analysis throughout the paper, funding and risk taking behaviour that can be found are the bank trends and behavior that had been practiced during the global crisis. This paper also focuses on the bank behavior and the financial market. The finding of the paper is the incongruity between the short-term funding and long-term funds had built up more liquidity risks. The study also finds the bank behavior that well-capitalized banks may react less to yield shocks and their profits could be less sensitive to the business fluctuations, as their portfolio decisions may vary from those taken by less promoted banks.

Objectives To determine the effect of 10,000 voluntary contractions over 8 weeks on the strength of very weak muscles in people with spinal cord injury (SCI). Settings Seven hospitals in Australia and Asia. Methods One hundred and twenty people with recent SCI undergoing inpatient rehabilitation were randomised to either a Treatment or Control Group. One major muscle group from an upper or lower limb was selected if the muscle had grade 1 or grade 2 strength on a standard six-point manual muscle test. Participants allocated to the Treatment Group performed 10,000 isolated contractions of the selected muscle group, as well as usual care in 48 sessions over 8 weeks. Participants allocated to the Control Group received usual care alone. Participants were assessed at baseline and 8 weeks by a blinded assessor. The study explores EPF investors' knowledge, experience and behavior towards investing in Islamic... more The study explores EPF investors' knowledge, experience and behavior towards investing in Islamic and conventional unit trusts in Malaysia. 110 valid responses were collected through surveys among government and private employees residing in Klang Valley area. Based on Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), it is found that majority of the respondents have enough knowledge about Islamic and conventional unit trusts while they have more experiences with the Islamic unit trust compared to the conventional. With regards to the EPF investors' behaviour, most of them are heavily relied on various source of information to make decision on investing in the Islamic unit trust. Results of this research is very significant to proof that besides other sources of information, knowledge on both Islamic and conventional unit trust is relevant to make decision for future financial planning.

Research in this field has attempted to identify these deviations in order to characterize different accents. English language has been studied for many years both from the perspective of native and non-native accents. Non-native speakers' speech may possess several acoustic-phonetic characteristics that are unusual in the native speakers' speech. This paper is concerned with the effect of Bengali accent on English vowel recognition. It is seen that spectral characteristics of different English vowel sounds are largely influenced by the Bengali-accented speech. Formants' nature of each vowel sound in Bengali accent differs from those of native accents. These findings are very effective to develop an English vowel recognizer that is capable to work successfully with Bengali-accented people. The recognition method applied here is very simple and the recognition accuracy is also very satisfactory.

Biometrics can be used to prevent unauthorized access to ATMs, cellular phones, smart cards, desktop PCs, workstations, and computer networks. It can be used during transactions conducted via telephone and internet (electronic commerce and electronic banking). In automobiles, biometrics can replace keys with key-less entry devices. Although many technologies fit in the biometric space, each works a bit differently. Relatively new on the biometric scene, face recognition devices use PC-attached cameras to record facial geometry. Once the biometric data is collected, it is encrypted and stored-locally, in the case of the desktop-only products; in a central database for the network solutions. When a user tries to log on, the software compares the incoming biometric data against the stored data.
