The unsaturation and intact macrolide ring of the polyenes are the requirements for the biological activity. All the polyene antibiotics can form the complex with the sterol having 3 beta-OH group, and planar ring and a hydrophobic side chain. Aromatic polyene antibiotics with positively charged head group have been considered as most potential antifungal agents.

Higher concentration of SDS and CTAB facilitated dispersion of reduced silver salt. Size of NPs was 72 and 163 nm in SDS and CTAB, respectively. Precursor silver acetate salt was irradiated for 30 min. Effect of surfactant concentration, irradiation time, and hydrophilicity of surfactants were investigated. Amount of Ag + ions reduced increased with surfactant concentration and irradiation time. Note: This article was retracted by the corresponding author from the journal "Advances in Nanoparticles" on an honest error and data still valid note. In this published article the electron generation by biphotonic mechanism has not been claimed as was done in the above retracted article.

The limiting molecular area (A 0) obtained by STm showed that the negative deviation at < mole fraction (x DMPC)= 0.4 whereas the positive deviation at > x DMPC =0.6 when DMPC was added to the DPPC monolayer. BAM images also showed that the condensed rigid monolayer at x DMPC < 0.4 changed to the expandable monolayer at x DMPC > 0.5. Moreover, IER spectra showed that the alkyl chains of both DPPC and DMPC molecules are in trans conformation in mixed monolayer at x DMPC =0.2 whereas gauche conformation existed at x DMPC = 0.8. Above findings have justified the transition of flexible gauche conformation alkyl chains of DMPC molecule into rigid trans conformation by the addition of DPPC molecule at x DMPC < 0.4 whereas alkyl chains retained flexible gauche conformation in both DPPC and DMPC molecules at x DMPC > 0.6.

The seropositivity in the Haryana population increased with time from 8% to 14.8% to 76.3% as recorded in August, October 2020, and September 2021, respectively. The virus spread was continuous as the increase in seroprevalence was monotonous. The three COVID-19 pandemic waves that hit Haryana in September, November 2020, and May 2021 infected the population and generated antibodies. The last serosurvey conducted in September 2021 which registered 76.3% seroprevalence might have a contribution from vaccination as 25% of all the population was fully vaccinated and 60% had one dose. The seroprevalence in Odisha was found to be 20.8%, 68.1%, and 73% in the surveys conducted in August 2020, June, and August 2021, respectively. The survey conducted in Odisha in August 2021 found that 93% of the healthcare workers had antibodies suggested that in the general population also, 93% seroprevalence might be possible ...

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were fabricated by repetitive irradiation of near ultraviolet (UV) n... more Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were fabricated by repetitive irradiation of near ultraviolet (UV) nanosecond laser pulses (355 nm, 5 ns) in an aqueous solution of silver nitrate in the absence of stabilizing agents. A broad absorption peak was observed in the visible region showing the formation of a variety of AgNPs in the solution. Among the variety of products, it was found that silver nanocubes (AgNCs) grew in size with longer laser irradiation time. The size of AgNCs also increased with higher laser intensity. The average size of AgNCs, investigated by a scanning electron microscope (SEM) was in the range of 75-200 nm. The number of reduced atoms in AgNCs as a function of laser intensity showed that the AgNCs are apparently produced by a four photon process, implying that the formation of dimer silver atoms is essential for the formation.

The overall seroprevalence of 87% was reported in the survey done in December 2021, whereas in the first, second, and third surveys, the seropositivity was 32%, 29%, and 70%, respectively. The % share of the antibodies formed due to vaccination in the third and fourth surveys have the contributions of 6.2% and 28.3%, respectively as per the vaccination record of the state since the above given proportion of the state’s population (full population) was fully vaccinated (two-dose) by the time the two surveys were conducted. Age-wise break up of seropositivity of the fourth survey showed that the cohort of 10-18 years had the least (68.4%) seroprevalence and adults above 60 had the highest at 84.5%. The rate of the spread of the virus decreased due to the hybrid immunity developed by infection and vaccination. Using the vacc...

The BTI reported in the city of Gurugram (Haryana, India) in the month of August, September, and October 2021 were studied. The monthly BTI in August, September, and October 2021 were 26%, 41%, and 76%, which caused an increase in the monthly caseload to 167, 150, and 206 cases, respectively. Mostly, the patients who had comorbidities developed BTI. However, the BTI reported in the Delta wave did not cause a surge in new cases. The surge was noticed only after the emergence of the Omicron variant of the SARS- CoV-2 virus. In Gurugram, 78.3% sero prevalence recorded in September 2021 was due to vaccination and higher infection rate of 59,921 monthly cases reported in April 2021.

Much needed data of vaccine generated antibodies have been reported world first as recorded in Indian population on the ground in real. More than two-thirds of (67.6%) Indian population developed antibodies against the infection. This includes natural immunity build up due to infection and vaccine generated antibodies. Eleven states: Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Gujrat, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha had sero positivity of >67.6%which was the national average. Ten other states registered < 67.6% seroprevalence were: Punjab, Telangana, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Haryana, Maharashtra, Assam, and Kerala. Single dose vaccination of 24% population added 19% seroprevalence in the population whereas 13% full vaccination increased 28% individuals registered antibodies. The highest (90%) ...

Seroprevalence was higher in females (35%) than males (30%). The seropositivity in Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Bangalore, and Delhi increased monotonously from July to December. Seropositivity in big cities of India was as high as 63.8% in Bangalore followed by Delhi (54.9%) and Kolkata (54.6%). In cities (Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Coimbatore, Surat, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata, and Nagpur) antibodies prevalence first increased with time after a threshold it started decreasing in 4 month time in most of the cities. Intergeneration age dependent seropositivity for both males and females showed an “M-shaped” pattern. The seroprevalence versus monthly infection rate in Delhi and Kolkata showed an increase in seroprevalence with the caseload. In Chennai, the caseload of new infections decreased while seropositivity increased. In the case of Mumbai, seropositivity increased with increase in the cas...

The traveling by air, rail, road, and sea inside and outside the countries has stopped to contain the virus. The amount of money lost and assistance needed to reschedule and conduct the Games in 2021 have been estimated. With more than one billion population is under the semi-locked down and movement of people is restricted, athletes cannot prepare at home and participate in the Games. The COVID-19 outbreak has spread around the world; it has already infected 5.7 million people and caused 355,000 deaths reported on May 28, 2020 and the figures increasing every day. The publication of this article is important as the postponement of the Olympics has costed Japan $6 billion and the organizers have worked very hard for seven years. If the Games are conducted in 2021, it will be the-beginning of the world recovery-from big COVID-19 pandemic. In this communication, the development in testing, treatment, and vaccine preparation for SARS-Cov-2 have occurred so far in different countries and companies have been discussed to know the possibilities if the pandemic can be overcome and the Games can be conducted in 2021.

The increase in the percentage share of the Omicron strain in total registered cases resulted in a surge of daily new infections. The pathogenicity of Original, Delta, and Omicron variants has been compared using the data collected at the Max Healthcare network in India. The Omicron wave was the least severe of all three waves. The third Omicron wave did not cause much damage due to hybrid immunity generated in the population as a result of vaccination and previous SARS-CoV-2 infection. The low pathogenic nature of the Omicron virus is also the reason for the less severe illnesses the variant caused. Hospitalization during the Omicron wave was just 10% of the Delta wave. The percentage of patients who needed oxygen support was the least during the Omicron wave (23.4%) followed by the Original (63%) and the Delta variant (74%). The less severe nature of the Omicron wave gave the hope of recovering f...

Apollo Hospital, PGIMER, Medanta, Civil Hospital, Park Hospital, Max, Fortis, Narayana, and Maulana Azad hospitals were included in the study. During the Delta variant surge, the BTI were reported in the range of 6-25%. By comparing the BTI rates during the severe Delta variant wave and less severe Original (Wuhan, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma) strain wave, it was worked out that the BTI were more among HCWs who were exposed to high viral load. In the initial days of the pandemic in the first wave when the total active cases were less, the rates of BTI were in the range of 1.6- 2.6%. When the viral load increased in the second deadly Delta wave, the BTI rose to 6-25%. The real-time data collected has established that the vaccination gave a protective shield against the novel coronavirus infection. Though the BTI were reported but the severity of the infection ...

The % share of the Omicron variant in overall India rose from 0.35% to 97.12% during the period November 29, 2021, to February 7, 2022. Due to the emergence of the Omicron variant, the daily new infections in India rose from a baseline tally of below 8,000 cases to the highest number of 347,063 cases recorded on January 20, 2022. In Mumbai, the Omicron variant completely replaced the Delta and other lineages as reported on March 3, 2022 genome sequencing report. In Mumbai because of the Omicron variant surge, the new infections rose to 20,971 on January 7, 2022, from a baseline tally of 191 daily cases recorded after receding the second Delta variant wave. In real-time, the vaccine effectiveness among the Indian population during the Omicron variant surge was studied and noticed that the two-dose regimen was 99.3% effective in preventing death. The death rate among the hospitalized patients was reduce...
