Analysis of convalescent plasma derived from individuals has shown that IgG3 has the most importa... more Analysis of convalescent plasma derived from individuals has shown that IgG3 has the most important role in binding to SARS-CoV-2 antigens; however, this has not yet been confirmed in large studies, and the link between binding and neutralization has not been confirmed. By analyzing plasma pools consisting of 247–567 individual convalescent donors, we demonstrated the binding of IgG3 and IgM to Spike-1 protein and the receptor-binding domain correlates strongly with viral neutralization in vitro. Furthermore, despite accounting for only approximately 12% of total immunoglobulin mass, collectively IgG3 and IgM account for approximately 80% of the total neutralization. This may have important implications for the development of potent therapies for COVID-19, as it indicates that hyperimmune globulins or convalescent plasma donations with high IgG3 concentrations may be a highly efficacious therapy.

Methods: To assess the genetic diversity using D2 analysis and principal component analysis over 50 mango cultivars during 2 consecutive years. Result: In the present investigation, the first seven principal components with eigen values more than one contributed 78.50 % of cumulative variance among fifty genotypes. Nghiên cứu này nhằm phát triển một phương pháp giám sát quá trìnhcanh tác lúa ở huyện Tiền Hải tỉnh Thái Bình sử dụng dữ liệu viễn thám Landsat. Nghiên cứu đã tiến hành xử lý dữ liệu vệ tinh landsat từ tháng 1 năm 2008 đến tháng 11 năm 2016 (45 cảnh ảnh), sử dụng phương pháp cây phân loại (Decision tree). Quy trình phân loại được thực hiện trong bốn bước chính: (1) chiết tách và xử lý dữ liệu EVI, NDWI đa thời gian; (2) khoanh vùng khu vực canh tác lúa; (3) phân loại loại hình canh tác lúa; và (4) đánh giá độ chính xác. In vitro maturation (IVM) of oocytes is the procedure where the immature oocytes are cultivated i... more In vitro maturation (IVM) of oocytes is the procedure where the immature oocytes are cultivated in a laboratory until they are mature. Since IVM oocytes generally have low developmental competence as compared to those matured in vivo, development of an optimal IVM culture system by fine-tuning culture conditions is crucial to maintain high quality. In-depth knowledge and a deep understanding of the in vivo physiology of oocyte maturation are prerequisites to accomplish this. Within ovarian follicles, various signaling pathways that drive oocyte development and maturation regulate interaction between oocytes and surrounding somatic cells. This review discusses the sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling pathway, which has been demonstrated to be intimately involved in folliculogenesis and oocyte maturation. Advances in elucidating the role of the SHH signaling pathway in oocyte maturation will aid attempts to improve the current inferior in vitro oocyte maturation system.
Relying on a closed test rig of a high-power intercooling centrifugal compressor for compressed a... more Relying on a closed test rig of a high-power intercooling centrifugal compressor for compressed air energy storage (CAES), this study measured the static pressure and static temperature at different radii on the static wall of the impeller backside cavity (IBC) under variable rotating speeds. Simultaneously, the coupled computations of all mainstream domains with IBC or not were used for comparative analysis of the aerodynamic performances of the compressor and the internal flow field in IBC. The results show that IBC has a significant impact on coupling characteristics including pressure ratio, efficiency, torque, shaft power, and axial thrust of the centrifugal compressor. The gradients of radial static pressure and static temperature in IBC both increase with the decrease of mainstream flow or the increase of rotating speed, whose distributions are different under variable rotating speeds due to the change of the aerodynamic parameters of mainstream.

Background: Substance abuse is very prevalent in today's society and has numerous consequences on... more Background: Substance abuse is very prevalent in today's society and has numerous consequences on the physical and psychological health of individuals. Little is known about the prevalence of substance abuse in patients with chronic diseases. Cystic fibrosis is the most common lethal genetic disease in Caucasian populations. Previous research on substance abuse in patients with CF is limited. Given the serious nature of the illness and the multiple body systems involved, understanding more about substance abuse in CF could have significant implications for the health and treatment of these patients. Objectives: The purpose of our study was to determine the prevalence of substance abuse in cystic fibrosis patients. Methods: Participants were recruited from the Calgary Adult Cystic Fibrosis Clinic and informed consent was obtained. Participants completed a demographics questionnaire, the AUDIT (alcohol use disorders identification test) and the DAST (drug abuse screening test). Results/conclusions: A total of 100 participants (57 females, 43 males) with CF completed the study. The average age of participants was 28.9. The prevalence of alcohol abuse was 16% and the prevalence of drug abuse was 4%. In our study 82% of participants drank alcohol in the past year, 20% used drugs in the past year and 5% smoked cigarettes regularly. 1% of participants admitted overusing pain medications. Only 3.2% of the sample had addiction treatment in the past. Information gathered from this study could be used to inform and encourage clinicians to ask about substance use in this population. This could lead to earlier detection and treatment for these patients which may improve outcomes. WS12.2 Outcomes of patients with cystic fibrosis admitted to an intensive care unit

Выявляются антропоцентрические постулаты художественного направления Серебряного века «акмеизм», ... more Выявляются антропоцентрические постулаты художественного направления Серебряного века «акмеизм», раскрывается концепция «одухотворенного тела Вселенной», восприятия мира как физиологического целого; раскрывается идея преемственности культурных и цивилизационных моделей в творчестве представителей акмеизма. Обосновывается концептуальная значимость соматической лексики в творчестве А. Ахматовой в целом и «глаза» как важнейшего органа познания мира-в частности. Обосновывается важность анализа и интерпретации данной лексики как составляющей части модели «человека телесного», воспроизводящего в себе самом гармоническое состояние окружающего мира. Интерпретируются статические данные, определяющие характер и количество упоминаний концепта «глаз» в стихотворном творчестве А. Ахматовой, выводятся основные закономерности употребления данного концепта. Раскрываются структурные модели конструкций, включающих «глаз»; выделяются наиболее продуктивные семантические группы, соответствующие традиционным культурным интерпретациям и архетипам. Акцентируются основные трактовки «глаза» как ретранслятора внутренних чувств, средства познания мира, смыслообразующей детали мифологических и индивидуально-авторских образов. Вводится антитеза «закрытый глаз-открытый глаз», расшифровывается цветовая символика «глаза». Дифференцируются общекультурные и индивидуально-авторские ассоциативные ряды исследуемых единиц. Выдвигается гипотеза о значимости «глаза» в творчестве А. Ахматовой как часть концепции «одухотворенного тела Вселенной»; выявляется дуализм данного органа, совмещающего опыт исследования окружающего мира с функцией проводника чувств и эмоций во внешний мир. Вводится идея о плодотворности дальнейших наблюдений за функционированием соматической лексики в творчестве А. Ахматовой в аспекте антропоцентрической модели.
