MATERIALS AND METHODS Sixty titanium miniscrews were divided into two groups according to the insertion protocol: one with predrilled sites and the other self-drilled into porcine iliac crest bone specimens. Each group had three cycles of reinsertion. After each insertion, the IT and RFA were measured. The IT was measured by using a torque meter, and the RFA was measured using the Osstell ISQ device. A total of five miniscrews of each group were selected for sequential assessment of the morphology of their tip and threads using scanning electron microscopy after each insertion cycle. RESULTS No statistically significant differences were found in the IT values of miniscrews reinserted up to three times in the group with predrilled surgical sites. The IT value increased significantly with the number of reinserti...

Se describe el caso de un lactante de seis meses de edad con herpes zoster –con antecedente materno de varicela a las 26 semanas de gestación– que tuvo un curso clínico infrecuente. Palabras clave: herpes zoster, lactante, virus varicela zoster. ABSTRACT Herpes zoster is produced by the reactivation of the virus varicella zos-ter which after having caused varicella remains boarded latently in the sensorial ganglions; it is more frequent in people over 50 years while in healthy children the incidence is much smaller being considered a rare illness. It is described the case of a 6-month nursing baby with herpes zoster with an infrequent clinical situation due to its occurrence and the maternal antecedents of suffering from varicella at 26 weeks gestation.

The use of CAD/CAM PMMA provisional restorations for orthodontic purposes have not yet been described, and there is currently insufficient information regarding the strength of bracket adhesion. Objective: This study aimed at evaluating the effects of thermocycling (TC) and surface treatment on shear bond strength (SBS) of brackets to different provisional materials. Methods: Forty specimens were made from each material [PMMA (Telio Lab), bis-acryl (Telio CS C&B), and PMMA CAD/CAM (Telio CAD)], sandpapered, and divided according to surface treatment (pumiced or sandblasted) and TC (half of the samples = 1,000 cycles, 5°C/55°C water baths) (n = 10/group). Stainless-steel brackets were bonded to the specimens (using Transbond XT), and SBS testing was performed. Data were analyzed by three-way ANOVA and LSD post-hoc tests (α = 0.05). Fail...

A survey was performed to quantify this decrease and the impact on the management of myocardial infarction in Latin America. Methods A telematic survey was conducted for all countries in Latin America. Diagnostic catheterisations, coronary and structural interventions, as well as the incidence and delay to reperfusion therapy of myocardial infarction (STEMI), were recorded. Two periods were compared: from 24 February to 8 March 2020 (pre-COVID-19) and another 2‑week period that varied according to country (COVID-19). Results Responses were obtained from 79 centres in 20 countries. There was a significant decrease in the number of diagnostic procedures (−65.2%), coronary interventions (−59.4%), structural therapeutics (−86.1%) and STEMI care (−51.2%). A decrease was noted in the incidence of STEMI, but also a delay in the time to STEMI reperfusion. While th...

Tal es el caso de las prácticas desarrolladas a partir del 2006 en el Centro Educativo Amigoniano Escuela de Trabajo El Redentor, con algunos grupos y comunidades terapéuticas.

Non – Performing Assets are a burning topic of concern for the public sector banks, as managing and controlling NPA is very important. A well – built banking sector is significant for a prosperous economy. The crash of banking sector may have an unfavourable blow on other sectors. A banker should be very cautious in lending, because banker is not lending money out of his own pocket. A major portion of the money lent comes from the public deposits and government share. At present NPA is increasing year by year in nationalized banks. According to the RBI data the Gross NPA of nationalised banks as on end of September 2017 hits 7.34 lakh crore. In this direction present paper is undertaken to study the reasons for advances becoming NPA of the Pithoragarh District CO- Operative Bank ltd and to give suitable suggestions to overcome the mentioned problem.

Methods: 209 pathological samples from gastric cancer, cervical cancer (CC), non-small-lung cancer, cutaneous melanoma (CM) and glioblastoma were tested for TIL in hematoxylin eosin, and density of CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, CD20+, CD68+ and CD163+ cells by digital analysis. Results: TIL levels were higher in invasive margin compartments (IMC). TIL in IMC, intratumoral and stromal compartments predicted survival. CC and gastric cancer had higher TIL in intratumoral; CC and CM had higher TIL in stromal compartment and IMC. CM had the highest density of lymphocyte and macrophage populations. CD20 density was associated with survival in the whole series. Conclusion: Standardized evaluation of TIL levels may provide valuable prognostic i...

It is based on the reduction of tellurite precursor by products generated during decomposition of sulforaphane at elevated temperature in aqueous medium. These species and other organic molecules present in the reaction mixture are being adsorbed on the surface of tellurium nuclei and govern further tellurium growth in the form of nanoflowers. The obtained particles have been characterized by a range of physicochemical techniques. It was shown that the average size of the nanoflower particles is ca. 112 nm, and they are composed of smaller domains which are ca. 30 nm in diameter. The domains are crystalline and consist of trigonal tellurium as shown by X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy and high resolution transmission electron microscopy. The tellurium nanoflowers were examined from the perspective of their potential anticancer activity. The in vitro cell viability studies were conducted on breast cancer (MDA-MB-231, MCF-7) and normal cell lines (MCF-10A) employing MTT and CVS assays. It was shown, that the nanoflowers exhibit considerable cytotoxicity against cancer cells which is ca. 3-7 times higher than that observed for reference normal cells. The preliminary in vivo investigations on rats revealed that the nanoflowers accumulate predominantly in pancreas after intraperitoneal administration, without observable negative behavioral effects.
Abstract Coastal regions and deltas around the globe are seeking financing for resilience project... more Abstract Coastal regions and deltas around the globe are seeking financing for resilience projects to cope with more frequent extreme events, sea-level rise and land subsidence. Interest is growing in natural infrastructure that generates multiple ecosystem services including flood risk reduction. The growth of the conservation finance market represents an opportunity to support these investments, but there is a need for pilot transactions that align incentives across private and public entities, along with rigorous performance metrics for natural infrastructure linked to resilience outcomes. We test the feasibility of the Environmental Impact Bond (EIB) model to address these challenges. An EIB is a form of Pay-for-Performance debt financing where investors provide upfront capital to implement a project and are repaid according to the degree to which desired environmental outcomes are achieved. We evaluate this concept for wetland restoration projects identified in Louisiana’s Coastal Master Plan by developing a site selection procedure and designing a multi-stakeholder transaction tied to restoration outcomes. Based on our proposed model we conclude that an EIB could be used to accelerate restoration and increase the net benefits of wetland investments, aligning incentives of the investors and payors around metrics of wetland sustainability.

The effect on these patients of increasing their OVD is not well understood. The purpose of this clinical study was to compare measurements of vertical jaw separation (VJS) in patients with brachyfacial and dolichofacial craniofacial patterns in 2 vertical dimensions: the clinical rest/postural vertical dimension (CR/PVD) and electromyographic rest vertical dimension (EMGRVD). Sixty healthy dental students were selected at random after a lateral skull radiograph was made. The Ricketts (VERT index) analysis was used to determine 30 brachyfacial (G1) and 30 dolichofacial (G2) types. The VJS was measured for G1 and G2 types in the 2 rest vertical dimensions specified. CR/PVD was recorded using 2 methods: swallowing (CR/PVD-P1) and the phonetic breathing method (CR/PVD-P2). The Shapiro-Wilk test was used for data distribution, and...
