This questionnaire is used as an online instrument to know the vocational behaviour indicators included in the «Observatory of vocational interests of the secondary students of Madrid Community: The Orion Project». This questionnaire online has turned out to be very positively valued by the expert counsellors who applied this instrument in your Schools during the year 2005/2006. Also was considered as a relevant activity of vocational reflection and of clarification of vocational decisions of the secondary students.

Diversos estudios internacionales ponen de manifiesto la importancia que tienen los profesionales... more Diversos estudios internacionales ponen de manifiesto la importancia que tienen los profesionales del mundo del deporte. Los perfiles de intereses y valores vocacionales de esta comunidad profesional definen en gran medida su identidad vocacional y su identificación puede ser de utilidad para llevar a cabo procesos de orientación. El principal objetivo de este trabajo es explorar la identidad vocacional específica de los estudiantes de 2.º de Bachillerato que tienen como opción preferente acceder a los estudios del Grado en Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el Deporte (CCAFyD) y contribuir así a mejorar los procesos de orientación vocacional de esta población. Participaron 4715 sujetos de 2.º de Bachillerato de la Comunidad de Madrid, el 43,9% son varones y el 56,1% mujeres, con una edad media de 17.37 años (DT= .65) que completaron la batería de cuestionarios de orientación que se ofrecen en el e-portafolio vocacional del Proyecto Orión (www.upcomillas.es/myvip). Nowadays, proliferation of embedded systems is enhancing the possibilities of gathering informati... more Nowadays, proliferation of embedded systems is enhancing the possibilities of gathering information by using wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Flexibility and ease of installation make these kinds of pervasive networks suitable for security and surveillance environments. Moreover, the risk for humans to be exposed to these functions is minimized when using these networks. In this paper, a virtual perimeter surveillance agent, which has been designed to detect any person crossing an invisible barrier around a marked perimeter and send an alarm notification to the security staff, is presented. This agent works in a state of 'low power consumption' until there is a crossing on the perimeter. In our approach, the 'intelligence' of the agent has been distributed by using mobile nodes in order to discern the cause of the event of presence. This feature contributes to saving both processing resources and power consumption since the required code that detects presence is the only system installed. The research work described in this paper illustrates our experience in the development of a surveillance system using WNSs for a practical application as well as its evaluation in real-world deployments. This mechanism plays an important role in providing confidence in ensuring safety to our environment.
A covering array CA is a combinatorial structure specified as a matrix of N rows and k columns ov... more A covering array CA is a combinatorial structure specified as a matrix of N rows and k columns over an alphabet on v symbols such that for each set of t columns every t-tuple of symbols is covered at least once. Given the values of t, k, and v, the optimal covering array construction problem CAC consists in constructing a CA N; t, k, v with the minimum possible value of N. There are several reported methods to attend the CAC problem, among them are direct methods, recursive methods, greedy methods, and metaheuristics methods. In this paper, There are three parallel approaches for simulated annealing: the independent, semi-independent, and cooperative searches are applied to the CAC problem. The empirical evidence supported by statistical analysis indicates that cooperative approach offers the best execution times and the same bounds as the independent and semi-independent approaches. Extensive experimentation was carried out, using 182 well-known benchmark instances of ternary covering arrays, for assessing its performance with respect to the best-known bounds reported previously. The results show that cooperative approach attains 134 new bounds and equals the solutions for other 29 instances.

Computations (SLEPc) is a software library for computing a few eigenvalues and associated eigenve... more Computations (SLEPc) is a software library for computing a few eigenvalues and associated eigenvectors of a large sparse matrix or matrix pencil. It has been developed on top of PETScand enforces the same programming paradigm. The emphasis of the software is on methods and techniques appropriate for problems in which the associated matrices are sparse, for example, those arising after the discretization of partial differential equations. Therefore, most of the methods offered by the library are projection methods such as Arnoldi or Lanczos, or other methods with similar properties. SLEPc provides basic methods as well as more sophisticated algorithms. It also provides built-in support for spectral transformations such as the shift-and-invert technique. SLEPc is a general library in the sense that it covers standard and generalized eigenvalue problems, both Hermitian and non-Hermitian, with either real or complex arithmetic. SLEPc can be easily applied to real world problems. To illustrate this, several case studies arising from real applications are presented and solved with SLEPc with little programming effort. The addressed problems include a matrix-free standard problem, a complex generalized problem, and a singular value decomposition. The implemented codes exhibit good properties regarding flexibility as well as parallel performance.
