Nevertheless, Brazil does not have a manufacturer that can provide this equipment and the Brazilian National O&G agency regulator has been pushing for O&G explorer and producers to use a minimum of machinery from local suppliers. With this regulatory demand, a BOP was developed from scratch. International Standards have been evaluated to understand what could be adapted as no standard is applied specifically to this equipment. Analytic and numerical simulations were performed and adjusted according to local suppliers’ limitations for materials and testing. Tree prototypes were built and tested to evaluate the design and functionality of the BOPs. At the end, the design was proven to work and the prototypes are being tested for long time without presenting any problems. This project was supported by an innovation agency EMBRAPII and was developed by SENAI CIMATEC to PERBRAS Company.
Oil well production rate should be maintained during its lifecycle and maintenance interventions ... more Oil well production rate should be maintained during its lifecycle and maintenance interventions are necessary to reach this goal. Production engineer teams work on different ways to make the production stable and to enhance the oil recovery from the reservoirs. However, interventions are necessary to maintain or recover the production rate. Some problems that cause maintenance are malfunctioning/wear of equipment, clogging/obstruction and operational mistakes. These maintenances are required using expensive equipment, especially on offshore operations. In order to reduce the overall cost of interventions, robotic systems have been proposed. In this work, a conceptual development for a robotic production column well intervention system is proposed. This equipment should be strong enough to resist oil well environmental characteristics. Nowadays, the challenge involves high pressure and high temperature wells, high flow rates, a long/deep well and other very hostile features. Even though, this device has to be very slim and lightweight because it will be responsible for carrying on other systems (measurement / inspection tools, completion tools, etc.) displacing into the oil well production column. On the other hand, it needs to have highly efficient power consumption since the power availability is usually limited in the actuation environment of this autonomous equipment. In order to guarantee the achievement of the desirable requirements, the design team followed the best practices of the product development process aided by a design for lifecycle guidelines.

According technological development advances in many industrial sectors and organizations looking... more According technological development advances in many industrial sectors and organizations looking for innovative products to be diferent themselves, due market challenge and competition through technological innovation projects.It´s necessary mapping and planning the risk response to arising the uncertaities of innovation enables more management control, avoinding the resources waste to meet the requirements of stakeholders in the Project. In this paper, the authors developed a risk management process integrated with TRL (Technology Readiness Level) metric, to analyze internal and external threats in the assessment of thechnological maturity. Finally, the process was applied to three innovation projects at an Institute of Science and Technology (IST) that develops innovation projects. 45 risks were identified, classified and monitored between TRL 1 and TRL3 in the categories: management risks, technical risks, safety and environmental risks. It was found that of the 45 risks found, 22% were security risks that affected TRL3. Technical risks were identified regarding the adaptation of technology to the development life cycle from TRL 1 to TRL 3. This process was accepted and implemented by the Project Management Office as a standard to be used in IST innovation projects.

The objective of this study was to determine the critical success factors (CSFs), as well as resp... more The objective of this study was to determine the critical success factors (CSFs), as well as respective best practices (BPs) associated with those factors, using a case survey of the employees of Ford Motor Company working in different development centers around the world. The company's project managers were asked to respond to two structured questionnaires. The results confirm the study's assumption that the order of importance of the CSFs of the automotive industry differ from those of other industries in general. The results also reflect the importance of the front end (FE) phase in the new product development process. Regional differences were also observed. Neglecting CSFs can lead to delayed decision-making, resulting in higher development costs or cancellations of projects.

Summary Well interventions, especially in offshore wells, are costly and usually very time-consum... more Summary Well interventions, especially in offshore wells, are costly and usually very time-consuming to conduct. This is related mainly to the need for a rig or a similar unit to perform these operations. In this paper we propose the development of an autonomous robot for rigless well interventions. The robot will be inserted through the tree using a special tool. This proposal will result in significant cost reduction by eliminating the rig when performing light–workover operations in offshore locations. This reduces intervention time because a simpler unit might be used to deploy the robot. Examples of operations that could be performed by the robot are production logging, gas–lift valve replacement, sliding–sleeve opening and closing, and plug insertion or removal. To evaluate this proposal, a conceptual robot was designed. The feasibility of this conceptual robot was evaluated theoretically. After that, a simplified test robot was constructed to test critical aspects experimentally, in laboratories, and in a test well. The traction system, energy storage, and a positioning algorithm were evaluated. In this paper we will outline the intervention strategy proposed, perform a theoretical evaluation of this proposal on the basis of the conceptual robot, and present experimental results obtained with the simplified test robot.

Porém, o que se percebe é um modelo padrão aplicados a diferentes tipos de projetos, inclusive projetos de desenvolvimento de novos produtos e tecnologias. Como gerenciar riscos no desenvolvimento de produtos e tecnologias, já que para tal, é necessário considerar o nível de maturidade do processo? Este estudo realiza uma revisão integrativa da literatura, sobre a gestão de riscos no desenvolvimento de produtos e tecnologia, considerando o uso da métrica TRL (Technology Readiness Level), abordando também riscos referentes ao Meio Ambiente e Segurança. Dos 307 artigos encontrados, apenas 10 corresponderam às expectativas, ao que concerne atendimento às questões norteadoras da pesquisa.
