We are interested in the following quasi-equilibrium problem Find x ∈ K(x) such that f (x , y) ≥ 0 ∀ y ∈ K(x) (QEP) where K(•) is a multivalued mapping X −→ 2 X. When the mapping x −→ K(x) is such that K(x) = X for all x ∈ X, (QEP) reduces naturally to the equilibrium problem:

They presented with uncontrolled hypertension. Laboratory examination suggested hypersecretion of catecholamines by the left adrenal glands in both patients and primary aldosteronism in one of them. A computed tomography scan revealed small nodules on left adrenal gland in both patients. Patients underwent laparoscopic left adrenalectomy. After surgery, blood pressure was normalized and proteinuria was resolved. Most interestingly, prominent adipocytes infiltrated were detected in the adrenal cortex and were associated with the presence of lymphocytes, which suggested that adipocytes might have a role in the pathogenesis of these diseases in our patients.
Active surveillance for avian influenza (Al) viruses in poultry sold at live bird markets (LBMs) ... more Active surveillance for avian influenza (Al) viruses in poultry sold at live bird markets (LBMs) was conducted in 44 of 63 provinces throughout Vietnam over two periods from September 2011 to February 2012 and October 2012 to June 2013. The study objectives were to assess the prevalence of avian influenza type A, H5, and H5N1 subtype viruses and characterize the geographical and temporal distribution of H5N1 virus genetic variants across the country. Monthly sampling was conducted in 394 LBMs located in 372 communes. A total of 9790 oropharyngeal swabs from poultry were screened for influenza A virus by real-time reverse-transcriptase PCR Virus isolation was attempted on all positive samples in embryonated chicken eggs, and the HA1 region of each H5 virus isolate was sequenced. Market prevalence of H5 subtype virus was 32.2% (127/394) over the cumulative 15 mo of surveillance. Phylogenetic analyses indicated that clade 1.1 viruses persisted in the south, whereas three genetically di...

The strategy is to combine the well-known search directions in the correction step from literature with the direction defined by the current iterate and the trial point obtained in the prediction step. This new combined search direction allows us to improve the convergence of the sequence of iterates to the solution of the QVIP but under a slightly stronger assumption, namely the co-coercivity of the problem operator. The new algorithm is devised to solve problems where the projections onto the moving feasible set are not easy to obtain. This combined procedure is applied to three well-known search directions and numerical illustrations are given to show the improvements obtained thanks to this strategy.
