Partition of India is not only an event in the continent’s political history but it is an incident that has overtly affected the common people of the country bringing about endless distress to the masses. The trauma and violence bring the change in social and political courses in India in such a way that ramifications and repercussions are still noticeable. It left an intense psychological scar on the minds of men, women and children. Most of the writers did their best to hide the violence and focus on the great incident rather than the event themselves. The actual acts of deprivation, train raides, trauma, suicide, madness, and acts of destruction are vexing to keep under the carpet. In comparison, Sadat Hasan Monto, who came across the displacement of Partition, fills the informing gaps in the politically motivated history. Thus this paper aims to rethink the trauma and violence of India's partition through the short stories.

His works defend this statement and proved him the gigantic figure of absurd works. The themes in his works are well-formed with absurdity and have poor concern towards the realities of life. His literature was a way of recognizing our resistance as an act of revolt in an absurd universe. Rebellion in the face of absurdity sees hope in the value of cohesion inherent in the goodness of man, namely that there is meaning in human life. To illustrate that revolt is an activity for the good of humanity in the face of absurdity, Camus uses the rest of his works to expose actions that seem rebellious but prove destructive. Camus calls this different kind of movement a revolt. The motive of this research is to separate the rebellious movement from all other forms of action. This study is to offer a critical reading of Albert Camus' novels, consistent with his reflections on the philosophy of absurdity. Using this theory as the philosophical basis for my writing, it set out to consider Camus' writing in terms of their being-in-this-world, in his interpretation of the understanding of revolt.
