Transit nodes are located in built-up areas, inside cities or on the outskirts of cities, urban agglomerations. Transit nodes are an important part of public passenger transport. The article is about transit nodes on the regional railway line between Bratislava and Dunajska Streda. The transit nodes are the railway stations on this line. Intercepting parking lots are part of the transit nodes outside large cities. It is important to compare travel times from source to destination using private car with other modes of public transport. Another option is to compare the times of using private car to the intercepting parking lot at the railway station with a train-transit and using private car from the source to the destination. In public passenger transport is necessary to prefer regional railway lines with accessible stations. These regional railway lines connect the surrounding villages and small towns with large cities. Large citi...

It is one of the main current challenges for humanity. Changing climate conditions in the long term, as well as short-term fluctuations and non-standard variation of temperature characteristics, have a significant impact on the behavior of pavement structure. Since the end of the 19th century, average temperatures have risen to 0.6 C. The article describes the results of measurements and evaluations of non-standard climatic situations occurring in the territory of Slovakia and the assessment of their impacts on road pavement structure. For the design of pavements structures in the calculations, we consider the deformation of materials for equivalent temperatures derived from actual measured temperatures. The most important characteristics of the asphalt pavement temperature are considered to be the average annual temperature of the asphalt layer, the average daily temperature, and their average values in each of the seasons. The strain and stresses in concrete slabs are important/significant temperature gradients - the temperature difference at the top and bottom surfaces. The requirement from practice was to re-evaluate the behavior of pavement structures with respect to changes in the effects of the temperature regime by measuring temperatures with an analysis of their behavior. In the paper are examples of calculations and impact of standard and changing weather conditions on the dimensions of the structures and pavements lifetime. Some pavement structural design problems and solutions with respect to their temperature regime and climatic change conditions are described in sections dealing with asphalt pavements and pavements with cement concrete slabs.

The building and operation of the system is described. There is an explanation of the architecture of technology and algorithm philosophy, their co-operation in the system, the communication possibilities and software condition. The standardisation of MCIS is described in three parts: the Communication, the External and Internal Devices and the Application Software Alignment. The part of the logical architecture of the system is listed. The system is described from the operator point of view. For the covering abstract see ITRD E114174.

The question is whether the method of this design activity—especially in feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, or documentation for land-use decisions—can be part of Building Information Modelling (BIM). The result of this engineering activity could at the same time be linked to the documentation for building permits, where a number of professional civil engineers are already making full use of the BIM management system. The problem of traffic engineering and traffic planning is related to the need for extensive data, which are usually not available and, if they are, are from different database sources. Very often, however, engineers have to carry these tasks out with traffic surveys. Most often, these data are from transport centres, or from spatial databases of Geographical Information System (GIS...

The analysis of goods distribution methods showed that to assess the integrated efficiency between the supply system and its end-consumers, it is advisable to apply integrated criterion efficiency—generalized distribution utility. The developed indicator takes into account the profit of the distribution channel (or its participants) and the generalized costs of end users during shopping activity. Based on the proposed indicator, the feasibility of using vehicle capacity is substantiated, which provides the maximum generalized distribution costs value and corresponds to the optimal sustainable distribution in consumer-driven logistics.

Many cities are already at the capacity limit of an existing road network. Therefore, many cities are trying to solve the question of how to improve the existing systems of public transport to become more attractive for their citizens. The quality of the public transport service from a passenger’s point of view is not only about the number of links and their occupancy, but also about the time and distance availability of stops and stations. When we were creating the general master plan for one small Slovak town, we tried to take various criteria into account. Of course, it was also necessary to carry out traffic surveys to determine the occupancy of public transport systems, but equally important was to determine the isochrone...

Paper is based on studying the demand for parking services for incoming drivers to urban area. Analysis of methods of «park and ride» technologies was carried out. The nodes of the transport network that are suitable for the arrangement of «park and ride» lots in Kharkiv was determined. Based on the results of this review, 7 potential places were identified for the placement. In the listed nodes, full-scale examinations of the intensity and traffic flow composition were done. The processing of the survey results evaluated the intensity of traffic flow of privet cars that enter the urban area during the morning rush hour. Results of the transport demand research in the possible «park and ride» lots according to the travel distance have shown: the largest number of cars (30%) travelled at a distance of 5 to 8 km; 21% - generates a road traffic in the ranges of 2 ... 5 km and 8 ... 12 km...

The real solution is to realize the set of three tramway lines around the new down town of the Bratislava. A huge development boom from the Danube river bank and on the edge of the Old City, where is risen up a new down town of the city. The territory specified will have around 20 high-rises with different function and there will be more than 17 500 new parking spaces (see Fig. 1). O quarter of the area is built a one third is under construction and all the tall buildings will be finished in 2025. At present, the operation of the territory is at the border of the saturation flows. The article shows a systematic traffic engineering and planning work starting with a set of traffic surveys and results for the next creating of traffic model which will be used not only for the prognosis scenarios of dynamic traffic flows but for c...
The article studies the development of crowd shipping technologies in the Old Town of Bratislava.... more The article studies the development of crowd shipping technologies in the Old Town of Bratislava. The paper aims to assess the potential for implementation of the crowdsourcing technology in the transport system of Bratislava. Methodology: An interview with the entrepreneurs in this area was conducted to assess the potential demand. In the survey, we collected information about type of goods; operations, quantities, and frequency of delivery; willingness to pay for one delivery among others. Based on the results, the freight demand, and its characteristics were assessed. The second part of the paper is devoted to assessing the supply of logistics to meet the demand. A survey of the willingness of ordinary travelers to work as an occasional courier was conducted. In the end, the equilibrium of demand and supply in the crowd shipping market in Bratislava is presented. The regression and correlation analysis were performed to understand the relationship between parameters of demand and...

The paper is dealing with the tools of traffic engineering surveys observing the situation in modal split and capacity of bridges in Bratislava from which was created a complex transport model. The results from the transport model showed the future collapse by overflowed situation on the street network and found the way to start with preparing the new Carrying System of Integrated Public Transport using the multi-modality of rail tracks in the agglomeration of Bratislava. Nowadays Bratislava has its first section of new tramway infrastructure from the downtown of the city connecting the all radials of the city toward the southern largest housing estate Petržalka. This section is prepared for operation.
