To make the learning experience joyful- three experiential learning activities are designed. It plays a positive role in strengthening and enhancing the academic performance in Chemistry. The objective of the present paper is to inspect the impact of the designed three experiential learning activities on attainment of intended specific learning outcomes. Totally 40 students participate in the study. The purposive sample technique is used to draw the sample of the present study. Sample learners are divided into two groups: study group and control group. Each group consists of 20 students. Both groups are taught the unit “Solution” through online mode due to COVID pandemic. The pretest – “formative assessment” is conducted. The result of the formative assessment divulges that the learners face challenges in the conceptual understanding of the unit. To enhance the deep conceptual understanding-teaching-learning method that is adopted at school by teachers play a significant role. The conventional teaching approach is often used by the schoolteachers because it is easy and due to lack of other alternative teaching-learning approaches. The present study is conducted to compare the experiential learning method with conventional method. The experimental research design is employed in the study. Totally 40 students participate in the study. Sample is drawn by using Purposive convenient sampling technique. Students are categories into two: study and control group. Each group consists of 20 students. Study is conducted in a coeducational school. Data is collected by using questionnaire. Descriptive statistical method is used to collect the data. Result of the study depicts that experiential learning activity model enhances the academic performance and deep theoretical understanding to attain intended specific learning outcome than the conventional method of teaching-learning. The statistical data clearly illustrates that there is noteworthy difference in the performance of both groups. Researchers supports the amalgamation of experiential learning approach at the foundation level will change the dynamics of education system in the modern technological era.

Many students struggle to learn Chemistry and do not succeed. Chemistry is the central part of all Science subjects. To make Chemistry learning easy and joyful appropriate method of class-room instructions are important. The Chemistry of solid states and composite materials is the part of the curriculum at All India Senior Secondary School Curriculum. Students face problems in solid state Chemistry due to its abstract concepts. To address the issue, handmade models and paper-based models are made as evidence-based learning. In this present paper attempt is made to investigate the impact of handmade paper model of unit cell and crystal lattices of solid-state Chemistry on academic achievement. The study is delimited to the students of only one school in rural area. Totally 50 students participate in the study. Sample is distributed into...

Participatory learning activity is envisioned as a process whereby learners construct concept through assimilation, absorption, interaction and reflection. In the present paper experiential learning activity are designed to ensure that the students are encouraged to seek out knowledge from their hands-on activity than the text book in their own experiences. In the present paper attempt is made to investigate the impact of conventional method of teaching and experiential learning activities on attainment of knowledge and retention of knowledge in learning redox reaction. Data is collected by using pre-test, post-test and retention test. Instrument is validated by experts. Stratified random method is applied to draw the sample. Totally 50 students participate in the study. Sample is separated into two...

As a teacher, it is very challenging to make the learners to be strong and have deep understanding in the theoretical concept for its application in day- to-day life. The experiential learning activities enhance the deep learning. The purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of experiential learning activities designed for the concept “corrosion” on the academic performance amongst Senior Secondary School students in Chemistry. Totally 40 students participate in the study. The samples are drawn using Purposive sampling technique. The samples are divided in to two groups: study and the control group based of their performance of formative assessment before the treatment. Students of the study group are taught by using experiential learning activities. The present study is experimental in nature. Data is collected using formative assessment before and after t...

An attempt has been made to investigate the indicator activity of root extract of golden beet root and to replace the synthetic indicators as they have certain disadvantages like chemical pollution, availability problems and high cost. A study has been done to investigate the indicator activity of aqueous extract of root pigments and compared with that of already existing synthetic indicators. Pigments were extracted using hot water and a definite volume was added which gave accurate and reliable results for all the four different types of neutralization titrations - strong acid against strong base, strong acid against a weak base, weak acid against strong base and weak acid against weak base. The work proved to be acceptable in introducing root pigments as a substitute to the synthetic...

Descriptive research design of the survey type was used. Three hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. A total of 200 secondary school students were selected through stratified random sampling technique. A validated questionnaire vetted by experts in measurement and research was used as an instrument for data collection. Independent t-test statistic was used for data analysis. The study revealed that students' attitude towards Attitude of Problem Solving Assessment were significantly positive; that gender and school location significantly influenced students' attitude towards Attitude of Problem Solving Assessment . The results further revealed that there are significant differences between attitude of male and female students in rural and urban schools towards Attitude of Problem Solving Assessment Based on these findings, the researchers recommended that school education board should open well equipped teaching with problem solving assessment in both urban and rural schools .

</p
Accreditation and assessment are two very important processes that are carried out in order to ma... more Accreditation and assessment are two very important processes that are carried out in order to maintain the quality of engineering education. Literature searches on accreditation and quality assurance of engineering education show that there is no uniform system of the assessment of engineering programmes worldwide. Although several accrediting bodies have been formed and are functioning across the world in order to accredit and recognize engineering courses, there is no common agreement or criteria that can be utilized in the accreditation and assessment of school education. The rapid growth of education globally require the proper maintenance of academic quality in educational institutions in order to withstand competition in the global market. Quality is a complex issue in education and should be seen in a holistic manner. Despite rapid development of educational evaluation and increased emphasis on quality issues in almost every strand of life, there is no simple view of a high ...
