The major aim of this study is to reflect the neglected role of the transitional poets in moving poetry and thinking in that time from depending on Reason as the only criterion in all fields of society life to regarding both Reason and emotions in humankind life. Romanticism came across a bridge of transition. That bridge is the essence and core of this study; it is a transition from rationalism to romanticism. The transitional period is neither classical nor romantic; however, it has the characteristics of both. One end of the bridge is on classicism and the other on romanticism. The poetry composed in that era has features of classical poems in length, and romantic in content and metre. Thomson, Cowper, Gray, and Blake are the poets who exemplify the transitional period poetry. The transitional poets are classical in body but romantic in flesh and bones. Furthermore; it is worthwhile to acknowledge the neglected role of poetry in drawing society's attention to the status of black African slaves. Consequently, the core of this book is an analysis of poems composed by William Cowper,

Romanticism arose so gradually and exhibited so many phases that a satisfactory definition is not possible.

It also reveals a significant attitude that the author has not strong tendency towards instinct as a woman but all her feelings, emotions and sentiments are to please the God and her father and that is why whenever she prays for deliverance or salvation the Heaven's reply is immediate and clear. The experiences that she faced are fuel to her faith and belief that the God is responsible of her life as she proves as an honest and loyal servant. Living among Africans has another considerable philosophy to the writer that is to examine and practise brotherhood between Christians; which she is a highly remarkable example of love, equality and fraternity regardless of race or colour. The writer's experiences in the Sudan are important to the Sudanese more than other people because she has honestly explained and stated the positive and the negative qualities, customs and traditions of the Sudanese whether at home or office. However, if she had visited Darfur she would have witnessed a highly religious people as Darfur was the part that annexed to the Sudan (1916). She would find the tribes and peoples of that part of the Sudan living a civilized life that based on systems and organization of Kings and Sultans up to now. Furthermore, the writer has been helpful to many tribes that have unwritten languages and still she is giving help to some tribe at Nuba hills of Kordofan as far as I know. Thus, her leave is a big loss to non Arabic tribes and peoples which are struggling to defend their right to land and history of grandfather. The novel is a masterpiece and a juice of a distilled mind and passion presented to human beings of the twenty first century to get lessons from and school their societies that all religions have one message that a human whether white or black is elevated and respected by the God. Therefore, I think that Leoma has generously and graciously lighted on all African countries and peoples that she experienced and visited. And when I see her Africans I have a mental picture of the moon spreading its rays in the night to drive misery and depression of the day. Names of her cats are a call to the Sudanese that there no is superiority among as they share one land and nation.
