Seraphima Bogomolova
author, cinematographic visionary, and creative entrepreneur
Born in St Petersburg, Russia, Seraphima Bogomolova holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and English and American Literature, received in a private Institute of Foreign Languages in St Petersburg. Her favourite authors are Alexandre Pushkin (1799-1837) – a poet and novelist of the Romantic era and the founder of modern Russian literature, and Agatha Christie (1890-1976), - a queen of mystery and detective genre.
In addition to the degree in linguistics, Seraphima has studied as separate short courses screenwriting with Aaron Sorkin at the MasterClass, 'Introduction into Classical Music’ at Yale University, 'Psychology of Self-actualisation and Creative Identification' at Tomsk University, and 'Literary Wardrobe' - symbolism of clothes and fashion items in literature, at Moscow State University.
As a kid, Seraphima went to a French language school but it never grew on her. Instead, in her spare time, she studied English language, dreaming of becoming one day an international affairs reporter, travelling the world and sharing cultural and social news.
Having graduated from the IFL, she set on a different kind of adventure and got involved in print media industry, promoting and marketing lifestyle publications. In 2006, her spirit of innovation, independent thinking and creative solution approach led her to launch her own publication - Avantoure, one of the first digital only magazines, that utilized the latest developments in digital publishing, such as inclusion of rich media into the layout of the publication, and selling digital subscriptions.
In 2013, Seraphima’s talent in visual creative writing and artistic streak combined brought her to the path of, first, staging story-based ballets to her own librettos, and, later, to screenwriting, with her current finished works being ‘A Tricky Game' (in English), 'Puzzled (in English), and 'Головоломка' (in Russian).
Apart from screenwriting, between 2013 and 2016, Seraphima also completed four fiction books including Головоломка (in Russian) and Puzzled (in English), Задача с неизвестными (in Russian), and Загадка Восточного Экспресса (in Russian).
Currently, Seraphima lives in Berlin, Germany and is working on her first non-fiction book 'Menabilly, My Love...' - a literary detective research focused on analysing and decoding the text of the phycological thriller 'Rebecca' by Daphne du Maurier.
