Twenty women were recruited in each of the three groups. The PPO group had significantly greater psychopathology and shorter episodes compared to the PWPO group. The PPO group was found to have significantly greater right lobe volume than the other groups. The PPO group also had significantly higher FT4 levels than the HC group. We conclude that isolated increase in FT4 and thyroid lobe volumetric changes could be more specifically associated with psychosis of post‐partum onset.

Moreover, scarce data is available with respect to their treatment.MethodsA cohort of 148 patients with “poppy husk” dependence receiving substitution treatment with buprenorphine/naloxone were followed up for 4 years, using a retrospective chart‐based assessment. Baseline demographic and substance‐related characteristics were described. Retention rates (operationally redefined as “6 months of uninterrupted contact anytime during their visits”) over the next 4 years and their predictors were assessed.ResultsMean age of onset of “poppy husk” use was found to be 27.51 years, and mean duration of dependence was 18.25 years. Mean amount of poppy husk consumed per month was 3.7 kg. Commonest reasons for initiating and quitting its use were enhancing work efficiency and lack of availability, respectively. Retention rates were 25%. Significant predictors of retention were...

We aimed to assess resting gamma spectral power, current source distribution and functional connectivity in adolescents with PNES. Interictal, 32 channels electroencephalographic recording of 15 adolescents with PNES was compared with 10 matched healthy controls. Spectral power, current source distribution and lagged linear coherence were assessed. Statistically significant gamma spectral power, cortical sources and connectivity pattern was found in some brain areas. Region specific aberrant gamma activity and its relationship to psychopathology are discussed.

Hypothesizing gamma oscillatory activity as a potential EEG biomarker to antipsychotic response in schizophrenia, the present study aimed at measuring baseline spontaneous gamma activity in schizophrenia patients, and evaluating its response to antipsychotic treatment over 8 weeks.MethodsFifteen drug‐free/naïve patients were recruited, compared at baseline with 15 age‐, sex‐ and education‐matched healthy controls, and were followed up for 8 weeks' treatment on antipsychotics. Resting state EEG waves were recorded using high (192‐channel) resolution EEG at admission, 4 weeks and 8 weeks. Spectral power was calculated using fast Fourier transformation, Hanning window. The power was averag...
