Thus, today the electricity is mostly generated from renewable sources such as sunlight, wind, tides and other to reduce dependency on non-renewable sources like hydroelectrics, fossil fuels and others. This paper presents an innovation of the automatic lighting system with the solar as a source of the system. Charger controller circuit is necessary to cut off the current of the rechargeable battery when reaching its maximum voltage. Dark-on relay circuit functions as an automatic switch to the light so that the light will be automatically turned on when there is no light or at night. Otherwise, the light will be turned off. The system can be applied to the room light, outdoor light, corridor light, spotlight or streetlight. The system is low cost and beneficial for home usage to save electricity bills and when the occupants are absent for relatively long period of time.

This paper presents a method of developing online courseware or MOOC for the subject ‘Microprocessor System’ which consists of software and hardware elements. As the courseware is deployed online, it is aimed to help students in understanding the topics and encouraging other people to learn the course in self-paced learning. Besides, it is hoped that it will assist lecturers in teaching and also overcome the problem of time constraints in completing the syllabus. The online courseware provides two-way communication including assessment, practical works and live broadcasting. OpenLearning platform is used to deploy MOOC and contains a learning management system. The results of the survey answered by students regarding MOOC usage and grade achievement indicate that MOOC is beneficial in the teaching and learning process.

The main objective is to investigate the characteristics of propagation phenomenon by analysing the received signal strength. The experiments were made at the estate where there are straight line uniform canopies of mature oil palm trees. The measurements were carried out on the same transmission paths with different number of trees and height at trunk, leaves and fruits which obstructing the signal paths. The results have shown that excessive attenuation is due to scattering, depolarisation, fluctuation and absorption. It is strongly aggrees with the previous studies. Further studies on other types of vegetation and environments, and its seasonal differences are important as future research.

Recent pandemic has also affected engineering education teaching and learning processes as all the classes and laboratory sessions need to be conducted via online distance learning (ODL) method. Therefore, this research selects Augmented Reality (AR) Method for innovative teaching and learning process. AR is known for its ability to overlay rich media into the real world by viewing through web-enabled devices such as phones and tablets, making it accessible anywhere anytime. In addition to improving interest and motivation of students during the learning process, AR could also address the financial and space constraints pertaining to science and technology laboratory equipment and apparatus. In this research, an AR has been developed according to system development method by using Assemblr application. The developed AR system is then given to selected educators to be evaluated in terms of their awareness and the system's usability. The educators' responses are obtained through a questionnaire survey and the findings are then analysed and presented in this paper. The responses are taken into account for improving the AR system and the development process will be continued in parallel with more testing. The final prototype will then be implemented in real classes in the future.

The optimum receiver performance can be achieved depends on the devices and design techniques used. Thus, this paper examines some of the issues involved in the design of frontend optical wireless receiver. Series-shunt bootstrap was investigated as the technique for mitigating the effects of the large capacitances associated with the photo detector. Optical wireless link or free space optics (FSO) require a large aperture and thus, the receiver is required to have a large detection area, which produces a high input capacitance and consequently reduced the bandwidth [1,2]. In order to maximize the bandwidth, we need to reduce Cin which is the summation of photodiode capacitance, Cd and amplifier input capacitance, Cs. On the other hand, it is necessary to reduce RL but the thermal noise element will increase when the load resistor is reduced.

During the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, internet platforms and access services were unsatisfactory, particularly in some areas of Malaysia. However, the internet’s platform providers are constantly improving their systems. Today (after two years of the outbreak), there are many reliable instruments available for teaching and learning (T&L). Among the initiatives taken by the Internet service providers (ISPs) are continuous expansion of their coverage area. However, this expansion takes time and huge amount of costs are involved. As a result, we took the idea of manipulating multi-featured Telegram as an alternative for students who do not have good access to the internet. We discuss the features available on Telegram in this article. We adapted the discussion on the application based on the mode of delivery, such as computa...

Realizing the significance of CDIO, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UiTM Terengganu applied the CDIO components in microprocessor course taken by its students through group mini project assignments. Mini projects of 50 students were assessed with respect to CDIO components. Their assessment results are looked into to analyze the effectiveness of CDIO incorporation implementation. The findings have shown that most students are capable to obtain good results with respect to CDIO evaluation criteria.

Numerous approaches have been proposed and implemented to improve academic performance as it reflects the students’ comprehension of the lessons taught in university. Realizing the significance of academic achievement, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UiTM Terengganu had conducted a study of Microprocessor course students’ background. Even though Microprocessor is one of the courses which manage to garner highest achievement, the instructors have noticed that there is a decline in students’ effort to excel in this course. Therefore, our work selects four criteria which reflect students’ background namely: CGPA, previous secondary school, performance and interest in C programming course to study how each background criterion affects the performance.
