This research aims to propose a systematic approach for product design and development by applying value engineering technique and Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ). Air conditioning manufacturing industry was used as a case study in this research. The research methodology consisted of the selection of parts to be analyzed, data collection of parts to be designed, function analysis, idea creation and the application of TRIZ. Results from product analysis showed that the major part of air conditioning was the Electric Box Assembly which was composed of several minor parts. One of them was the Electronic box plate which was an important part and suitable as a sample part for the study of increasing the product value and decreasing the production cost. From the steps of idea creation and application of TRIZ, a systematic approach for designing the Electronic box plate was generated. This approach can reduce the amount of material used to manufacture this part more than 30% and also increase its value. This was because it can be designed to have a common function with a Partition plate, thus, the value of the Electronic box plate was increased.

From the study of the existing process, it was found that there was a problem during a small part pick-up step, which used man labor to handle the part, resulted in low productivity. In order to solve this problem, this research designed a magnetic cub of a robotic arm to capture the small part instead of man labor. This equipment cost only 38,190 baht. Results from the real implementation indicated that the cub could perform its functions effectively, and lead to an increment in production rate from 313 to 418 units per hour or 33.55% and a decrease in the number of operators from 6 to 3. Thus, it can be seen that the การประชุมวิชาการข่ายงานวิศวกรรมอุตสาหการ ประจ าปี พ.ศ. 2555 17-19 ตุลาคม 2555 ชะอ า เพชรบุร ี 329 methodology of this research could identify problems and lead to an effective improve...

The consumption of durian can be in the form of both fresh durian and processed durian, such as chips, cakes, and crunches. This research aims to innovatively develop the durian stick processing machine. The machine is intended to perform efficiency and effectively according to the users’ needs before transferring the knowledge to the foundation community. The research applied Quality Function Deployment (QFD) in order to design and develop the conceptual model of the machine that responds to the true needs of the agricultural community of Khao-bai-sri, Chanthaburi Province. The research began by studying and collecting data of the fried durian stick processes. A survey of the agriculturist needs of the durian stick processing machine was then performed. The needs were analyzed by applying QFD to establish the technical specifications of the machine. The research then generated 4 alternative conceptual models and selected...

The study used a quasi-experimental research designs in which a single group of 20 participants who used the vibrating machines regularly were tested, given a spring balancer and then re-tested. The results showed that the occurrence of potentially harmful levels of vibration decreased significantly (p– value<0.05). In conclusion, this study suggests and recommends that the spring balancer should be universally implemented across the Thai automobile industries in order to reduce the risk of hand injury and increase the strength of a worker’s hands.

The improved system was expected to improve evaluation accuracy and support evaluators in the evaluation processes. The research began with studying and analyzing the current CEES of the case study company. It was discovered that the current system was lack of accuracy in the evaluation processes. Consequently, high number of equipment breakdowns and maintenance resources consuming were involved. The research then proposed the new CEES which was modified from the current system and applied the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to construct the hierarchy of factors and calculate.

The methodology applied the mutual benefits of the prominent techniques: discrete-event simulation (DES) and lean thinking. Its application is demonstrated by a case study at the outpatient surgery department (OPSD) of the Health Science Center, Burapha University. To improve the OPSD operations, increasing the number of orthopedic physicians from 2 to 3 and re-managing the schedule of all the orthopedic physicians are recommended. As the results, the OPSD operations are improved by reducing the average patient turnaround time (ATT) and average patient waiting time (AWT) 11%-23%.

The 17 specific samples from 4W and ZECP division were selected by the weight of box 15.4-28.7 pounds. The standardized Nordic questionnaire for the analysis of musculoskeletal symptoms with pain scale from 0 (no pain) to 10 (worst pain) was used to self-report feeling. The ergonomics redesigns trained for the workers included: 1) brought the load closer to the worker by training; 2) raised the height of objects placed to reduce the vertical distance between the origin and destination of the lift; and 3) moved the origin and destination of lift closer together to reduce the angel twist. The new procedures were trained to all participated workers. The result found that the lifting index was safer (<1.0). For successful outcome, be supposed to monitoring is careful the data about a problem of the worker health, give the carefulness in case of specially exceed environment more than the LI advises and should do training continuously.
