It is believed that surgical trauma is frequently associated. Case report: This article reports the case of a young patient who developed SM after an oncological nephrectomy and aims to describe and discuss the clinical, imaging, surgical and therapeutic aspects, based on a review of the literature on this theme. Conclusion: This is a rare case of SM after cancer surgery. Tamoxifen and corticosteroid therapy was effective for the treatment.

Case Report: A 23-year-old woman with a clinical history, physical and laboratory examinations compatible with pyelonephritis was admitted. Ultrasonography revealed a ureterocele and hydronephrosis of the upper collecting system of the left kidney. We evoked a complicated pyelonephritis and the patient underwent a computed tomography (CT) scan that confirmed bilateral pyelocalyceal and ureteral duplicity, pyonephrosis, and implantation of the upper ureter of the left kidney into the vaginal dome, forming a left ureterocele. The patient was placed on antibiotics and the ureterocele was drained through the vaginal canal. After twelve days of hospitalization, she underwent an open partial nephrectomy of the upper portion of the left kidney. On the third postoperative day, she was asymptomatic and was discharged. Conclusion: Despite the typical clinical picture of complicated pyelonephritis, this case stands out for the

For its construction, the critical issue is related to the choice of efferent conduit; the most widely used are the appendix and the tapered ileum. Here, we present two alternative techniques for construction of tubes applicable to the same function. Ten dogs underwent operations with two different types of tubes constructed through transversal tubularization of small segments of ileum. These tubes were implanted in the bladder. The dogs were followed up for 30 days, during which all were continent. Their tubes were easily catheterized. The techniques described met the criteria defined for an efferent tube to be used according to the Mitrofanoff principle.

Nefrectomia. Tamoxifeno.
