The constant evolution of Information and Communication Technologies, Internet, access to differe... more The constant evolution of Information and Communication Technologies, Internet, access to different free software, among others; they generate problems in the management of information security in companies; to mitigate risks, vulnerabilities, and information threats, an alternative was presented considering that information security systems are the basis for decision-making at the government, strategic, tactical, and operational levels. The objective is to design a security prototype applied to business management to mitigate risks, vulnerabilities and threats to information. The deductive method and exploratory research were used for the analysis of the information. Turned out prototypes that allow mitigating risks, vulnerabilities and threats in information management for data control and integrity. It was concluded that the security prototype proposed for a commercial information system; it is security system suitable for public and private companies. In the simulation carried out, it was determined that if the number of risks and threats is high, there will be a greater probability that a problem will arise in the security of the system.

Public organizations lack adequate models and methods to efficiently support and manage processes... more Public organizations lack adequate models and methods to efficiently support and manage processes related to information security and IT investments. The objective is to optimize the management of strategic projects planned to improve the information security of a public organization and make efficient use of its available resources. The deductive method and exploratory research were used to review and analyze the available information. A mathematical model resulted that optimizes two objectives: (1) minimizing the costs of the strategic projects to be executed, and (2) maximizing the percentage of improvement in the organization’s information security. According to the result of the simulation, a subset of planned strategic projects was obtained that allows improving the information security of a public organization from 84.64% to 92.20%, considering the budgetary limitations of the organization. The use of games with educational purposes has increased over time. However, the interaction and ... more The use of games with educational purposes has increased over time. However, the interaction and engagement of the player with the game, given through the game mechanic, is not always adequate. This is important, especially when it comes to a game with a serious purpose, since cognitive and/or motor changes require time. In this paper we present the evaluation of a serious game that intents children to read. Using Wizard of Oz and think-aloud protocol, low-fidelity prototypes were evaluated. Nine children participated as testers. At the end of the process, a set of questions regarding the serious game was asked. Results regarding the understanding rules of the game were positive, and children exposed to enjoy the dynamic of the game.

Happiness is the ultimate goal for every living human being, and this condition motivates people ... more Happiness is the ultimate goal for every living human being, and this condition motivates people to stay active and want to be alive. Having this feeling also fosters the proactivity of citizens. The opposite is depression, a condition capable of significantly affecting a person's behavior or perception. HoD Detector is a low-cost, easy to use application that aids in the diagnosis of a depressive disorder and motivates the user to seek professional help. The purpose of this study is to propose a way to measure happiness through the measurement of depression; to develop HoD Detector, evaluate the accuracy and usability of this application (with university students) for future enhancements of the system. The development of this application involved basic algorithms and the use of a database to successfully make a diagnosis and store the results of each user for further reference. The application is capable of giving a proper diagnosis with the time interval of 2-5 minutes. HoD Detector has the potential to become an extremely useful tool to diagnose depression and motivate users to seek professional help not only in Mexico, but also on an international scale for improving in people's happiness condition.

Nowadays, mobile technology makes it possible for us to realize processes in a relatively short a... more Nowadays, mobile technology makes it possible for us to realize processes in a relatively short amount of time, showing the user friendly and efficient interfaces that any person is capable of adapting to. Continuing this trend, we develop a mobile application that aids in giving an early diagnosis of Influenza and Dengue, two diseases that affect approximately 5% of the world population (in the case of Dengue) and 5%-15% of the northern hemisphere (in the case of influenza). Our application consists of an expert system based on fuzzy logic that analyzes symptoms introduced by the user and formulates a diagnosis in approximately 2-4 minutes. This system considerably reduced the diagnostic time, improving the recuperation process from these diseases due to their early detection.

As part of the Smart City development process in Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, Jalisco State Government is improving its IT infrastructure towards a Smart Government developing more services connected to the citizens. With 8.14 million inhabitants in Jalisco State, the 61% has concentrated in de metropolitan zone; every online service must support connectivity of millions of users in peak periods with a good quality of service and user experience. As an example, each year the government has to collect taxes for the city, creating peaks of connectivity into tax offices. With the integration of Cloud Computing services, we present a study of accessibility for the citizens through to mobile platforms looking to orchestrate data flows with Private Cloud Infrastructure and Software Defined Networks (SDN). Based on open source solutions, this paper presents a collaborative experience among Government and Academia in the implementation of a private Cloud together with SDN technologies offering advantages in Cloud services to improve Smart Government services. Also through of implementation of IoT devices, the tax offices sense and monitor different environment variables to improve services.

El desarrollo tecnológico ha mejorado la calidad de vida de los pacientes de forma directa, reduciendo los tiempos de recuperación y de diagnóstico, además con la disminución de costos que la asistencia médica genera en la población. La inteligencia artificial combinada con la robótica en el área médica, posibilita que algunas decisiones puedan ser obviadas de forma correcta. Los sistemas expertos proporcionan la facilidad de almacenar información y tomar decisiones gracias a sus algoritmos de trabajo, obteniendo diagnósticos de forma rápida y asertiva.

Due to this undeniable fact, the concept of smart cities has come into existence. The purpose of a Smart City is to improve the living standards of the average citizen, meaning that in a Smart City time can be optimized, pollution and traffic congestion minimized and the health of the average citizen maximized. The development of applications and better flow of information can enhance the quality of almost every aspect of a person's lifestyle. An example of an application developed to better the lifestyle of the average citizen is BioDnX, an application that aids the recovery expectations of a patient with diseases such as Influenza and Dengue, two of the most common diseases in Latin America, by offering a rapid diagnosis with user-friendly software.

The need to analyze the risks of cyberbullying that children and adolescents face through the use... more The need to analyze the risks of cyberbullying that children and adolescents face through the use of social networks was determined. Given this, the problem focuses on the need to provide an ICT management model to mitigate the conflict situations to which users are exposed. It was used deductive and exploratory research w as a methodology to analyze information regarding the rates of users of social networks in Ecuador; in addition to establishing their ages. Turned out a conceptual model related to the development of digital skills, qualitative description in the handling of digital content by children and adolescents; as well as the qualitative description of digital content. It was concluded what is necessary to provide optimal environments for the development of digital skills or competences in children and adolescents in order to mitigate the risks of cyberbullying. In this way, it contributes to the efficient treatment of personal information indigital media.

This paper analyzed the security of a database considering the environment of distributed systems... more This paper analyzed the security of a database considering the environment of distributed systems. There are several security mechanisms that are applied to the different types of data that are saved; this research identifies several problems for mitigating the security of a distributed database. The objective is to define a basic scheme and an abstract algorithm through algorithms using flowchart techniques for a security process in a DDB. The deductive method and the exploratory investigation were used to analyze the information of the articles of the reference. It resulted in a basic structure based on a three-level architecture, with 3DES encryption algorithm applied to the request and response; SQL-based encryption for data processing; FPE encryption algorithm for storage in the database; the scheme was presented with its scope and possible limitations; and a prototype of an abstract algorithm expressed with flowchart techniques was obtained. It was concluded that the basic scheme and abstract algorithm presented as an alternative to control access to resources, to provide improved security in a distributed database.

The result is that today everything is connected: people, information, events, places; all with multiple interdependent relationships that form a vast social network. Overuse of social networks, can be addictive as any other substance or typical behavior. They contribute to social cohesion disperses as the use thereof has been distorted, mainly by young people. The strong addictive internet capacity is increased greatly by its wide availability, low cost and easy handling. Although not all researchers in the field agree on the condition of addiction social networks, however, overuse of the internet can infer that is harmful to the individual whenever this would cause detriment in their behavior.
