This dissertation focuses on predicting electrical energy consumption in Lomé using meteorological data. By employing the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm, we seek to adapt energy production to demand by integrating accurate forecasts based on weather conditions. Data from the Communauté Electrique du Bénin (CEB) from 2021 to 2023, including temperature (A), relative humidity (B), precipitation (C), wind speed (D), and direct irradiation (E), are used to train the model. Performance is evaluated using criteria such as MAE, MSE, RMSE and R². Although the KNN algorithm showed mixed performance, some combinations of weather variables, such as ABCE, were found to be relevant for the prediction (MAE = 20.569, MSE = 678.775, RMSE = 26.053 and R² = 0.258). This work highlights the importance of forecast accuracy of efficient management of energy resources.
