Despite their substantial diversity, their ability to avoid fishing gear leads to “under collection” and a discontinuous record of distribution. The present study documents the first distributional record of Albunea occulta Boyko, 2002 from the Bay of Bengal, eastern Indian Ocean. Albunea thurstoni Henderson, 1893 is also recorded for the first time from the area, i.e., from the Gulf of Mannar, southwestern Bay of Bengal. This study further reports variation in morphological characters, especially in the carapace grooves (CG) from previous records and across specimens from different regions. Morphometric characters were found useful in species discrimination, which is explained as well.

The series active compensator and the diode rectifier are directly connected in parallel thus shares a common dc bus. Due to this compensator, the diode rectifier draws three-phase sinusoidal currents from AC mains. In addition, it performs well under varying AC mains voltages as well as varying DC link voltages. By maintaining the DC link voltage at a constant level irrespective of AC mains voltage fluctuations, derating of the load is avoided successfully.

The changes are most readily apparent on scanning electron microscopy and include: a more plump appearance of villi with loss of furrows and pits on their surfaces, elongation of villi and a smoother, more uniform microvillus surface. These changes occur within 2 h of the administration of the hormone and persist for as long as 24 h. The morphological change precedes the increase in calcium absorption induced by 1,2Sdihydroxyvitamin D, in the intestine. These observations suggest that 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D, may play an important part in maintenance of the structure of the duodenal mucosa.

This paper presents an experimental investigation of the characterization and implementation of high-bandwidth pulsed microjet-actuators for the control of supersonic resonant flows in a cavity. This pulsed microjet-actuator is capable of producing high momentum mean flow along with an unsteady component where frequency can be adapted. The results show that using this first generation design actuation of the pulsed microjets reduce the amplitude of the cavity tones by upto 7 dB and the overall sound pressure levels upto 5 dB. The effect of actuator pressure ratio was studied over a wide range. A comparison was made with the same actuator working in a steady mode of operation. The pulsed microjet injection alters the shear layer characteristics and significantly reduces the unsteadiness in the cavity as observed from the unsteady pressure measurements. Based on these results the actuator design is being modified to further improve its control authority. This is expected to lead to much improved control in future studies.

The uptake of l-O-[ 3H~octadecy~-2-ace~I-s~-glycer~3-pbosphocho~ine ('H-AGEPC) by alveolar type-11 cells was linear with time from 5 to 60 mitt, with an average rate of 460 and 450 fmol/106 cells for cells in primary culture for 48 to 72 h, respectively. AGEPC was rapidly metabolized and by 10 min 60% of AGEPC was converted into long-chain acylphosphatidylcholine (PC) (50%) and I-O-alkyl-2-lyso-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (lyso-GEPC) (10%). By 60 min radioactivity in AGEPC was less than 10% of the total in~acellu1~ activity. Lyso-GEPC remained at about 10% throughout the incubation period. The uptake of 3H-AGEPC by fibrobiasts was very similar to type II ceils, but the rate of' metabolism was slower. AGEPC in fibroblasts constituted 85% of the cellular counts after 10 min of incubation, and 50% by 60 min. After 60 mitt only 30% of the AGEPC was converted to alkylacyl-PC. Characterization of the fatty acids in the alkylacyl-PC of both the type-11 cells and lung fibroblasts indicated that arachidonic acid was preferentially (more than 90%) inserted at the 2position.

On examination, he had left sided upper motor neuron type facial palsy along with a subtle ipsilateral hemiparesis (grade 4/5 Medical Research Council). Magnetic resonance imaging brain revealed a contrast enhancing large well-defined extra-axial mass lesion in right middle cranial fossa with extension into the infratemporal fossa. The mass was excised in two stages. Histopathology was suggestive of clear cell meningioma (CCM). Supratentorial pediatric CCM is a rare entity. The case is discussed along with review of literature on this rare clinico-pathological entity.

Nitric oxide reactivity studies afforded ruthenium nitrosyl complexes [Ru(L1)(PPh3)(NO2)(NO)Cl] (1a) and [Ru(L2)(PPh3)(NO2)(NO)Cl] (2a) from complexes 1 and 2 respectively. Complexes 1a and 2a were characterized by different spectroscopic studies. Molecular structure of complex 2a was determined by X-ray crystallography. Redox property of all complexes was investigated by cyclic voltammetry. Coordinated nitric oxide was found to be photolabile and photogenerated NO was trapped by reduced myoglobin and liberated NO was estimated by Griess reation.

The field is operated by a Joint Venture of which Cairn India Ltd. is the Operator. The field has completed 15 years of production from Middle Miocene reservoir, with over 9 years on plateau production of 50,000 BOPD. The field has two oil blocks, designated as RA/D block and RE/F/B block. The latter is the smaller of the two: it accounts for nearly a quarter of Ravva STOIIP. Until an integrated reservoir modeling study was undertaken in 2004/05, the RE/F/B block was generally recognized as an area with poor understanding of structure and hydrodynamics. This lack of understanding was attributable to three main factors: a) attenuated seismic response in the central RF area due to the presence of gas at the shallower Late Miocene level b) complex compartmentalization with low net-to-gross and c) the Class II AVO response presented by hydrocarbon-charged Middle Miocene reservoir sand...

These patients may harbor structural lesions. We aim to determine the utility of repeat angiogram in these subsets of patients. Methods: In this prospective study, patients with SAH with a negative computed tomographic angiogram (CTA) and digital subtraction angiogram (DSA) were included. A repeat angiogram was done after 6 weeks of initial angiogram. Patients were divided into perimesencephalic SAH (PM-SAH) and diffuse classic SAH (Classic-SAH) groups. Outcome was determined by modified Rankin score (mRS). Results: A total of 22% (39/178) of all SAH were angio-negative. A total of 90% (n = 35) of these were in Hunt and Hess grade 1-3. A total of 22 patients had PM-SAH and 17 had a Classic-SAH. Repeat angiogram did not reveal any pathology in the PM-SAH group, whereas two patients with Classic-SAH were found to have aneurysms. At 6 months follow-up, 95% patients of PM-SAH and 83.3% of Classic-SAH had mRS of 0. Conclusion: Repeat angiogram is probably not necessary in patients of PM-SAH and they tend to have better outcome. Classic-SAH pattern of bleed is associated with fair chances of an underlying pathology and a repeat angiogram is recommended and these cases and they have poorer outcome.

The paper includes characterization of actuated winglets at various operating conditions and its effect on the development of tip vortex. Stereoscopic Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) was employed to study the flow field associated with tip vortex and change in velocity field due to MFC actuated winglets. Initial results show that oscillatory amplitude of twice the winglet tip thickness led to enhanced diffusion and resulted in comparatively lower levels of vorticity downstream.
