The audit assesses the efficient use of resources and processes and promotes corporate credibility, which is essential from investors’ perspectives, particularly in ecosystems of innovations. Meanwhile, little is known about lean auditing, which is crucial in achieving effective processes. This paper summarises the arguments and counterarguments within the scientific discussion on the issue of auditing. The research’s primary purpose is to identify types of waste in auditing and formulate the principles of lean auditing. The systematic literature review and approaches for solving the problem based on grounded theory and triangulation of methods enabled the resolving of research problems. This article analyses the internal auditing standards and guidelines and uses in-depth interviews with 19 internal auditors f...

The aim of this paper was to identify the financial health of agricultural enterprises operating in the Slovak Republic using three selected creditworthy models (the Altman model, Taffler model and Bonity Index). It was concluded that the differences in the evaluations of agricultural enterprises using individual creditworthy models were significant. The analysis was supplemented by the spatial distribution of the enterprises at the level of individual regions of the Slovak Republic. It was confirmed that the spatial differences in the evaluations of agricultural enterprises using individual creditworthy models were not statistically significant and were therefore random. The proposal of own assessment of regions is based on the combination of the obtained results and their spatial distribution. We assum...

The study used an online questionnaire survey to collect the data. According to the results, each generation views the severity of environmental problems differently, with Generation Y placing the highest priority on them and the Baby Boomers placing the lowest. Based on the performed statistical testing, we can confirm a statistically significant difference between individual generations of respondents on the question of the Covid-19 pandemic's positive impact on the environment, but no statistically significant difference between individual generations of respondents on whether they think waste sorting and recycling reduces the amount of waste deposited in landfills or whether they think waste sorting and recycling increases the amount of waste deposited in landfills.

The main purpose of this study is to present possible causes of the economic crisis in most Europ... more The main purpose of this study is to present possible causes of the economic crisis in most European countries considering not only the coronavirus, but mainly the development of economic indicators such as wages and labour productivity in the period of 2000-2019. The authors try to prove, that the economic crisis was clearly predictable in the Slovak Republic (and many other European countries) despite the whole coronavirus issue, and they identify the spectrum of the correlation of these developmental features and predictors, but also point out that the interconnection of the analysed issues cannot always represent direct dependence on the long-term sustainable growth of the economy. The authors focus on the question of the possible sustainability of wage development in the Slovak Republic based on the analysis of the relevant determinants as well as in comparison with the oftendiscussed German European example. Comparing the development level and wages structure in the period before and after the national accession into the EMU, the authors try to warn about the resulting problem of the country's economy in connection with the current unsustainability of the growth of wages and labour productivity, which in final was not caused, just accelerated by both government and economic limitations related to coronavirus issue.

[2] . The quick development of Space industry and processing capabilities allow near-real time monitoring of large target areas in cities. A proof-of-concept of a platform for the surveillance and management of built-up area and infrastructures (City-EYE) has been developed by Detektia and Insar.sk space companies, supported by scientific validation. The potential of City.EYE lies in the two-level analysis of entire cities and in the integration of different datasets from various SAR sensors and data dating from 1992 to present. The processed PSI data is input to the platform, together with relevant monitoring data (climate, urban development…). A two-scale approach allows monitoring the city and built up areas as a whole while simultaneously monitoring in detail critical infrastructures and buildings. City-EYE is part of a new generation of management platforms that integrate Space data in daily operations.

New forms of enterprise were created, the number of subjects increased and their average concentration decreased. Based on the analysis, it is claimed that in the majority of selected economic indicators, there was a significant difference in the reached parameters among the groups of the analyse subjects using land, differentiated according to their legal status. Based on the results of testing, it is possible to claim that business companies show a higher extent of economic success evaluated through the selected economic indicators. Only in one case – the indicator of the amount of subsidies per 1 ha of agricultural land – it is impossible to establish a statistically significant difference. This impossibility in that par...

The paper aimed to assess the development of productivity and economic efficiency of the agricultural entities in the reporting period based on the synthetic evaluation of the selected economic indicators by the methods of cluster analysis, and so to create a spatial map according to the regional differentiation at the NUTS IV level. On the basis of the completed analysis, we can conclude that the natural and climatic conditions have a dominant influence on the achievable productivity and economic efficiency of the agricultural entities in ensuring the sustainability of the economic performance of agriculture in different regions of Slovakia. On the basis of conducting the analysis, there wer...

The aim of the paper is to propose an alternative to the legal perspective on the evaluation of the municipality economy. The paper focuses on the characterization of the chosen MCDM method – the TOPSIS method as a suitable alternative for the complex evaluation of the municipalities' economy and their mutual comparison. This method is applied to a set of municipalities in the Presov Self-Governing Region in 13 independent districts aiming at ranking municipalities based on their economy according to selected criteria. Results of the application are further statistically studied focusing on the identification of the correlation between the result achieved and the size of the municipality.

The foreign direct investment (FDI) has since gained its importance, especially in the area of local and regional development. Its positive impact is reflected at the local, as well as at the national level. FDI is the means of ensuring technology transfer, increasing employment, as well as improving the quality of the workforce. The aim of this article is to assess the stock of foreign direct investment and its localization in the Slovak regions at NUTS III level. From the content perspective, the article analyzes the economic development of the Slovak region by region, based on the stock of FDI, by using models from neoclassical theory of regional development for the period from 1999 to 2009. We assumed that the different regional stock of foreign direct investment woul...

The basic unit of self-government is the municipality. The basic unit of government is the municipality. The municipality is an economic entity and basic self-governing unit of local self-government, which manages its own property under the Law, disposes with own financial resources, and prepares its own budget. Municipal indebtedness significantly determining its action constitutes a single criterion laid down by law for evaluating its financial performance and necessity to establish a recovery mode or receivership in the municipality. The contribution discusses the selected methods of multi-criteria decision making, which are based on determining of the ranking according to the identified criteria which have a direct impact on the overall result. On the basis of previous utilization of describing methods in the various fields of the economy, the contribution explores the possibility of their use in the evaluation of the management of municipalities, i.e., the application in terms of local self-government. By choosing the right methodology it is possible to evaluate the quality of municipalities management and provide a way for a more efficient use of public funds. This analysis provided the space for comparison of these methods and confirmed their possible use in local self-government in the evaluation of management of municipalities.
