Важливим внутрішньодержавним завданням Збройних сил (далі -ЗС) Великої Британії у боротьбі щодо з... more Важливим внутрішньодержавним завданням Збройних сил (далі -ЗС) Великої Британії у боротьбі щодо забезпечення національної безпеки є боротьба із тероризмом усередині країни. Протягом ХХ-ХХІ століть Велика Британія стикалася із різними формами тероризму, включаючи діяльність бойового крила Ірландської республіканської армії (далі -ІРА) та міжнародних екстремістських організацій. Метою роботи є розгляд історичного контексту, стратегій та методів, які використовувалися армією Великої Британії для боротьби з тероризмом у межах її кордонів, а також важливість цього досвіду для сучасного світу та України, де терористичні загрози стають усе більш актуальними. Методи дослідження включають аналіз офіційних урядових документів, звітів, спеціалізованої літератури, правової бази, публікацій масмедіа; історичний аналіз, який дозволяє розглянути трансформацію ролі Збройних сил у запобіганні проявам тероризму. Аналіз літератури демонструє, що тоді як участь ЗС у конфлікті з ІРА та їх залучення до боротьби із тероризмом у складі міжнародних коаліцій за кордоном були предметом багатьох досліджень, внутрішньодержавне застосування армії досліджено фрагментарно. Результати дослідження демонструють, що ЗС Великої Британії розвивали та адаптували свої стратегії для боротьби з тероризмом, використовуючи різні методи, включаючи антитерористичні операції, залучення до охорони громадських місць, розвідку та посилення міжвідомчої координації. Висновки полягають у тому, що досвід застосування армії Сполученого Королівства цінний як модель у протидії конкретним загрозам національній безпеці, які існують у сучасному світі. Йдеться, зокрема, про діяльність російської федерації, яка з 2014 року використовує широкий спектр терористичних методів у ході агресії проти України, підтримує ескалацію насильства з метою дестабілізації регіональної ситуації на Близькому Сході та у Західній Азії, проводить приховане фінансування та постачання ресурсів терористичним групам. The history of the armed forces in the world's leading countries forces at the turn of the XX-XXI... more The history of the armed forces in the world's leading countries forces at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries reveals a recurring pattern of state authorities deploying these forces for law enforcement tasks. This practice has not been without consequences, drawing considerable attention from the public and sparking debates concerning legal frameworks, appropriateness, and the political ramifications of entrusting police functions to military units. This article analyzes the Mount Carmel siege, a high-profile case of armed confrontation between the Branch Davidians sect and the US federal authorities that took place in the state of Texas near the city of Waco in 1993. The article highlights that, although the ATF and the FBI were the main actors in the confrontation, the US Armed Forces were also involved in support operations under the nexus of «the War on Drugs». In the lead-up to the Mount Carmel raid, Green Beret instructors played a crucial role in providing ATF personnel with specialized training focused on building clearance techniques. Later the US Armed Forces provided to the FBI hostage rescue team the most advanced sophisticated military equipment available at the time, including experimental surveillance robots and a secret satellite signal jammer. The US Department of Defense approved the FBI's request for the provision of weapons and military vehicles originally designed for combat actions such as Мазурін О. The article reveals the specifics of the involvement of the US National Guard and the US AF perfo... more The article reveals the specifics of the involvement of the US National Guard and the US AF performing the tasks of the US southern border security during the presidency of Donald Trump. The author analyzes the reasons for the involvement of military units, the scope of their tasks, and describes the specific tasks performed by military personnel in cooperation with the US Customs and Border Protection. Changes in the nature of the use of army units during the operations «Guardian Support» and «Faithfull Patriot» in 2018 and after the declaration of a state of emergency on the border with Mexico in 2019 are revealed. The main problems encountered by the U.S. Department of Defense in its operations at the border, in the context of fierce domestic political opposition to Donald Trump’s immigration policy, were separately examined.
