Discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is a feature representation method which generates global and local features based on different wavelet families and decomposition levels. To represent protein sequences, the proper wavelet family and decomposition level must be selected. This paper proposed a hybrid optimization method using particle swarm optimization and the firefly algorithm (FAPSO) to choose the suitable wavelet family and decomposition level of wavelet transformation for protein feature representation. The suggested approach improved on the work of earlier researchers who, in most cases, manually selected the wavelet family and level of decomposition based solely on experience and not on data. The paper also applied the virtual class methods to overcome the error propagation problems in hierarchical classification. The effectiveness of the proposed method was tested o...

The discrete wavelet transform (DWT) approach provides the ability to create the appropriate features to represent data. DWT can produce global and local features using different wavelet families and decomposition levels. These two parameters are essential to obtain a suitable representation for classes in the hierarchy structure. This study proposes using a particle swarm optimisation (PSO) algorithm to select the suitable wavelet family and decomposition level for G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) hierarchical class representation. The results indicate that the PSO algorithm mostly selects Biorthogonal wavelets and decomposition level 2 to represent GPCR protein. Concerning the performance, the proposed method achieved an accuracy of 97.9%, 85.9%, and 77.5% at the family, subfamily, and sub-subfamily levels, respectively.

Emergency vehicles are often found stuck in traffic congestion. It has resulted in the emergency vehicles unable to get to the scene quickly. Detecting emergency vehicles on the road can help provide a route to enable emergency vehicles to arrive more efficiently. Several methods have been used to detect the presence of these emergency vehicles on the road. Convolutional Neural Network is one of the popular classification methods nowadays. This work used VGG-16 as the pre-trained model with reduced convolutional layer and filter size. Based on the experiment, the proposed method gained an accuracy of 95%. Thus, the system has achieved the objective.

This method has adopted two dissimilarity measures of normalized energy difference and relative entropy to identify a set of orthogonal subspaces in optimal wavelet packets. The energy will be derived from the calculation of the two dissimilarity measures that have overlapping subspaces. This feature, in turn, serves as an input to support vector machine (SVM), decision tree and naïve Bayes classifiers. The proposed model yields the highest accuracy of 78.6%, 76.25%, 76.72% for dataset S1, S2, and S3 respectively by using SVM. This technique outperformed other feature extraction method for membrane protein type classification for dataset S2 and S3.

It helps its user to suggest the items based on user's preferences. Calculus is one of the tough subjects feared by most students. Thanks to the technology, many sources on the web can supply tutorials, working examples and solutions on the subject. However, there are too many of them. The students need to make selection, which one can fulfill their needs of specific calculus topics. The aim of this paper is to give a general overview and preliminary study on RS and review some similar education systems available.

As an ongoing process, learners need to monitor and regulate their cognition, motivation, and behavior as well as reflect on their learning process. These processes will be repeated as a cyclic process. The emerging technologies have changed the learning environments. Technology delivers teaching to learners via online. In online learning, information of education and learners do not share the same physical setting. Online learning should provide opportunities for learners to master necessary tasks. Online learners may use SRL strategies. In this research, we have collected, synthesized, and analyzed 130 articles on various topics related to SRL that published from 1986 to 2017, focusing on online learning and mathematics. We noted several models, phases, and few other topics discussed under SRL.

This is because according to the dietary rules, Muslims can only consume halal (lawful) foods and are prohibited from eating haram (unlawful) foods. Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JabatanKemajuan Islam Malaysia, JAKIM) has introduced two methods to verify halal logos, namely 'e-Halal' system and Verify Halal mobile application. These two methods are useful, but users have to pay if they want to use them. This paper proposed an image processing method to identify the similarity between the original halal logo by JAKIM and other halal logos. The halal logo is retrievable from the internet or can be captured using a digital camera. Then, users can verify the logo using the proposed system to see any similarity matches between the original halal logo and other halal logos in the system. Fifty different halal logos were tested, it was shown that the proposed method is practical to determine the originality of halal logos. These methods are then integrated into an application known as Halal Logo Verification.

These protein sequences contain redundant and irrelevant features that cause lower classification accuracy and increase the running time of the computational algorithm. In this paper, we select the best features using Minimum Redundancy Maximum Relevance (mRMR) and Correlationbased feature selection (CFS) methods. Two datasets of human membrane protein are used, S1 and S2. After the features have been selected by mRMR and CFS, K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifiers are used to classify these membrane proteins. The performance of these techniques is measured using accuracy, specificity and sensitivity. and F-measure. The proposed algorithm managed to achieve 76% accuracy for S1 and 73% accuracy for S2. Finally, our proposed methods present competitive results when compared with the previous works on membrane protein classification

UiTM Malaysia regularly host and conduct prestigious events, which involve outside participants, and therefore the development of an accurate and concise means to guide participants around the campus is very important. Convocations, Independence Day celebrations, New Year celebrations, Seminars, local and International Conferences are examples of events regularly conducted at UiTM. A Route Planner Mobile Web Application for UiTM Malaysia has been developed to produce a list of routes from two selected points in order of the shortest first. The user can select any listed location as a starting point and any listed location as a destination. Djikstra’s algorithm has been used to find the appropriate shortest route from those two selected point. Djikstra’s algorithm together with Google Maps API and Google Earth, which are popular web mapping services providing geospatial data, have been used to develop, a prototype route planner.

MMO games allow gamers to interact and play with up to thousand players. Rainbow Six Siege (RSS) belongs to MMO type of game. However, due to many operators that are available in this game, the player needs to choose the right operator to counter the enemy operator. Therefore, based on the characteristic of the selected operator, this paper attempted to predict the outcomes of the game. In our prediction model, characteristics for these operators were extracted from 120 live stream replays. Three classification algorithms were utilized to predict the outcome of the game. Among these algorithms, IBK had obtained outstanding performance in the dataset. The accuracy of the model is 93.75%, applying 5-fold cross-validation test. The success rate reveals that our proposed model is suitable to predict the outcome of the game.
