PCRAFI, launched in 2007, aimed to provide the PICs with disaster riskassessment and financing tools for enhanced disaster risk managementand climate change adaptation. The PCRAFI Program (phase II) launched in April 2016 is comprisedof two key pillars; (i) the PCRAFI Facility and (ii) the PCRAFI TechnicalAssistance Program

Recognition of the attitudes, understanding, and expectations of patients presenting to Indian EDs will be crucial to the continued development of EM as a specialty. This is a multicenter, prospective, cross sectional study of adult and pediatric patients presenting to the ED in three geographically distinct regions of India. Participants were surveyed about their expectations regarding the type of care that they expected to receive, previous treatment options they have utilized, basic understanding of ED operations, factors contributing to their decision to seek ED care, and basic demographic information. 779 patients were approached to participate in the study, of which 698 (90%) completed the survey. Common ways that patients reported learning about the ED were referral from another healthcare provider (45%) and recommen...

The typing dynamics apply to the automatic process of recognizing or verifying an individual’s identity depending on the form and style of tapping on a keyboard. It allows to authenticate individuals through their way of typing their password or a free text on a keyboard. In this paper, we perform analysis of machine learning algorithms on a keystroke dynamics-based data set with features like Hold time, Keyup-Keydown time and Keydown-Keydown time. This research is based on our methodology of using support vector machines (polynomial & radial basis kernels), random forest algorithm and artificial neural networks to recognize users based on their keystroke patterns. The review analysis shows a great result in user identification based on keystroke patterns with artificial neural networks showing better results among the three algorithms implemented at 91.8% accur...

The electrokinetic studies on quartz serve as an aid and augment the investigation of the amphibole asbestos dust surfaces as quartz has been the subject of detailed study by several authors. Investigation was carried out using the streaming potential and micro-electrophoresis techniques, where possible. The isoelectric point of the mineral amosite was found to occur at pH 3.1 to 2 and that of crocidolite at pH 3.3 to 4 whereas quartz is isoelectric at pH 2.2 through a reaction with hydrogen and hydroxyl ions exclusively. Due to the manner in which amphibole fibres are formed there is an edge and face structure on the amphibole fibre surface. The total surface charge on the amphibole fibres is therefore a function of the combined face and edge charge. The experimentations confirmed that the face charge on amphibole fibres is therefore due to the presence of silica and the edge charge due to the layers of metal cations sandwiched between layers of silica. Several samples of commercial amosite and crocidolite have been used in the investigation but the majority of the results were obtained from reference samples of crocidolite and amosite supplied by the International Union against Cancer. The importance of the surface properties of dust particles in the development of dust related disease is an area where little is known, this paper compares the surface properties of two of the major amphibole asbestos minerals with that of a known pathogenic mineral quartz.

Hydrogenation of acetophenone was performed with use of polymeric catalyst system prepared from the polymer-supported chiral 1,2-diamine and RuCl 2 /(S)-BINAP. The reaction proceeded smoothly even in 2-propanol to give 1 -phenylethanol in quantitative yield with high level of enantioselectivity. Furthermore, various other aromatic ketones could be asymmetrically hydrogenated by the polymeric catalyst system.
